  1. Last night I went out on one of my permissions clearing some rabbits, I've had this permission for nearly 12 month and not one sign of any deer, but the last few nights I've been I've spotted some Roe knocking about on the land. I've not had any experience with Deer stalking, but it's something I'll be looking at in the future. Just thought it was strange to have no sign at all, then to see them on two separate occasions within a week
  2. I've been onto BASC previously mate, when land wasnt passed and they advised what steps to take. I've seen a few lads complaining about the request for DSC 1, think some are just pure power crazy and other are scared to make a decision incase anything comes back on them.
  3. Haha at least I know I'm not the only one being taken for a ride, it's a complicated world. How jealous I am over people with open tickets right now lol.
  4. It's the first time I've had any feedback from land owners, my local FEO handles things loads better, I understand the need to check but some of the questions asked could change the mind if some people. Luckily I've know the lady for 8 years after controlling land with air rifle, so I've already built the trust up. I'm just going to leave it now, hopefully I'll not have to deal with this FEO or force again, I've been up against it since original contact what a bloody joke.
  5. Land owner called me today and was exhausted after in depth call to FEO whoops What's your relationship with Him ? How long have you known him ? Are you aware what types of guns he's using on your land ? Why do you want him to shoot on your land ? What do people next door think of you having someone shooting on your land ? And this went on and onnnnnnnn. The owner did in gest ask if I was removing the bunnies equipped with a tank
  6. I'm no expert, but I thought once the land was passed previously your good to go with permission ? I've had two other permissions passed for 223 so far mate, and only got when I got permission from surrounding fields / land also
  7. Yes massive backdrop surrounding mate, their concern is that I would for some strange reason shoot over the backstop.
  8. It's crazy mate and amazing how different forces work to different standards.
  9. I've been waiting for a while for a land check on a 10acre field for .22 Rimfire, it was originally passed for FAC air rifle only, I requested a walk of the land with the FEO so I could discuss shooting positions and safe backdrops and if they could review decision. I've just received call, I'm now allowed to shoot on the land, but only from an elevated position, which is from a large container situated on the land, and if this is removed an high seat must be used. Obviously I'm happy I can start work on the land, but I still believe it's overkill for the rimfire especially with massiv
  10. Frequently asked questions section is very helpful mate if you've not already seen ?
  11. I've just put a nikon pro staff 3-9x40 on the .22, can't go wrong for £150 new.
  12. I was recommended the 53g Hornady Superformance for the 223, and was not disappointed, only £19 at my local RFD for 20.
  13. Other eye was just bulging but looked ok, and it was a buck mate.
  14. I've been using homemade shooting sticks for the last year, to be honest the only reason I wanted to change was for the adjustable height, but I didn't want to spend stupid money on a shooting stick like majority on the market. Found an "Hawke Monopod" for £16.99 from uttings at reduced price. After being out a few times I'm well impressed, more flexibility and a lot faster in field than my bipod shooting sticks. It's got a spike on base which can be retracted if your shooting off solid ground... bargain for all you tight buggers like me
  15. Total of 3 this week, some worst than one from this morn .... hopefully just limited to this area.
  16. Noticed several rabbits this week on one of my permissions with swollen / dodgy eyes, I'm assuming it's Myxomatosis, what's your thoughts with pictures guys ?? Rabbit on picture taken out with a body shot.
  17. I've just fitted a nikon pro-staff 3-9x40 to my .22, quality scope and reasonable price at £150.
  18. Cheers pal, and it Cant be a good experience with armed response being called, glad I'm not close to any roads lol
  19. Cheers mate, think if I'd not gone over the boys in blue would of had a wasted journey.
  20. Haha it is that easy though for someone to call in if suspicious, they wasn't aware I had rifle with it being .22 Rimmy with subs. My FEO advised calling 101 and opening a case so each time you go you call them and it's left on system so if anyone reports anything in area they will call you first, not sure how many use this though.
  21. Yeah it did pal, not something you expect at that time of night, someone having a fag spotted lights and reported me to others.
  22. I've just got in after a very strange night...went to one of my permissions and was picking a few rabbits off from the car, I got out to collect them with the spotlight and when I got back to car I Noticed a massive crowd of people at the fence behind me, honestly about 20+, it's a horse riding school, when I first secured the permission I went and introduced myself and left contact details but looks like it wasn't shared with all the team. They were all looking at me like I'd just placed my wife in a shallow grave I thought I'd better go and introduce myself and after discussing with
