    First time I have heard mention of anything GSD related since Geoff 'Blackgreyhound' Battams left the building...come to think of it all of his GSD/Mal/Huskie disciples have gone all quiet too............... For all of those who long for the Call of the Wild...have a gander at this...the dog munching the 'pheasant at the foot of his master bed' cracked me up.... I really enjoyed reading about that poacher in your link sounded lik a right cow boy driving over deer to finish them off

    Y the top dogs never jack is cause you or I never hear about them jacking the best of them jacked I bet you but they won't tell anyone and who knows you still buy the pups because of the name , I had plenty of dogs who jacked on all quarry but I didn't pass them on like some folk , but I always think a dog who jacks needs a break and a bet check then another fair try and if same happens again forget it and start again !

    I honest think stamina isn't as in important in Ireland tho as the fens so horses for courses as they say but swap horses and I'd say it would be a shit race from either side!

    are the dogs bred and run here north n south bred differently to the English fen dogs for quicker acceleration in the smaller fields or does that not matter what ratios of different sight hounds works better in the different countries?theres 1s called plodders do well on the fens but wont get a luk in in ireland ..horses for courses. they haven't much chance in Ireland they have all day in the big open land ,

    i dont know or dont care about coursing events in the uk, i asked about the breed in general as a lurcher x as apose to a coursing dog,so you are saying there a one trick pony is it?only good for hares! From your opening post....." now I want you to tell me why this breed is so highly ranked in the uk"......did you want an honest answer or were you just trolling for an argument? general lurcher work coursing events ,they have coursing greyhounds for that ,like previous comments people just go with the crowd on this one and as for an arguement i dodnt want one i just want honest opio

    Shut up you plum you're no more a pest controller than I'm a feckin basketball player. you must be a basket case ,if a farmer has trees planted and he wants the hares gone ill either get the dogs or if i want to keep my permission for the digging next season ill shoot em, i dont course or keep corsing dogs so i dont give 2 fucks about them or any fella coursing them. foxes are my game and no i dont hunt them int he summer(I know they are pess 2)

    Right from what I have seen On here the coursing lads (saluki men) run the show in this section if it ain't a saluki don't talk about it , but now I want you to tell me why this breed is so highly ranked in the uk as in my experience the common lurcher is more popularly used in Ireland ( collie , bull deerhound and whippet) So tell me why have these dogs taken over ,every topic the lurcher has saluki in them or its based about them ? just interested to know why everyone has one please add why u don't have one ?

    Yah so u don't have an agreement , hares young and old get killed In the winter , and I don't get up or go out to hunt hares like some people , pest control is what they are to me, so for your smart comment to hunting summer hares , who cares wat I do and it's nothin to do with you if I do day or night ! Doesn't make you a matter man than anyone else !

    hares breed all year round !:/ But anyone who tries to suggest that they do not have a period of the year where they are waaaaay more likely to do so (not to mention successfully rear the young) does not know much about the country side! know much about the countryside , well it's a fact they breed all year round I said nothing about successful rearing, so coursing in the winter you still can kill a doe in young ! So don't try to educate me in the countryside !
