Couldnt of put it better moley

Ive loojed at other posts about mink on this forum and they dont seem to answer some of my questions. So yesterday we did our first pheasant shoot of the year. And as walking through a wood a beater said he spotted a mink run into a little dried up stream. This stream hasnt been running for a few years now. Do i look for a nearby pond in the woods or just set traps near to where to was spotted? Im using mk6 fenns and a kania 2000 baited with rabbit. The ponds in the wood are more like mud pools but this area is also a few hundred meters from a flowing river. Whats my best option?

So a friend of familys got a squirrel in the attic and seen as im the trapper of the family ive decided to give it a go. Ive chose to use the kania 2000 with peanut butter. Is it really that simple or is there anything else i need to cover?

Mole Trapping Tips Please
Peter Shorrock replied to drakeshead gunner's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Its allways better catching on a warm day, if its wet the moles just dig down and stay far under ground...on a dry day set them...if your trapping in a feild with livestock in then it may help putting a bucket over the top just to stop then stepping or tampering with/on the trap -

Mole Trapping Tips Please
Peter Shorrock replied to drakeshead gunner's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Clear all loose soil out of the run. Flatted as far in you can reach with your fingers...if its a scissor trap make little grooves inthe run for the trap to set off fast and easy. Cover the top of the trap with grass and then sprinkle soil from the mole hill over the top to stop sunlight getting in. Hope this helps -
