  2. Yes it was barn owl i was only told last night, i had only seen them and they appeared to be white.
  3. For bushing cover, i only have lurchers and and want to improve their fun, have small bedlington cross lurcher goin to cover but can be fairly akward at times.
  4. Hi, i was wondering is there anyone breeding working plummers in Ireland as i was looking to add a terrier to my pack and i have my heart set on a plummer, if anyone one has any information or that can.point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. Thanks. Paddy

I hadnt seen one until the start of summer two years ago and i have seen at least 6 since, i drive machinery for the summer so do a lot of night work, also seen one out lamping rabbits had it on the lamp for a minute or so but have never seen one hunting, i cant say whats normal for them but i would have thought a hare wpuld be a bit big for an owl, then again no one should be suprised by the actions of a wild animal. I also have observed a lot of cestrols/hawks around this past year compared to previous years.
  6. I was just wondering what kind of numbers of white owls are left in ireland, are they rare? Are you meant to report sightings? If so where would you make such a report. Thanks

Thanks lads, i hope to make the most of it, time will tell a lot of things, il take everything with a pinch of salt until i get to know my way around this thing, here are one or two more pictures that i couldnt put up earlier on, and by the way the breeds of the dogs in the first picture are saluki hound x deerehound(light brindle picture one) and the second is a bedlinton x collie x hound. The pictures below are of a second generation half x bullhound(i dont have this dog anymore but is one of the nicest bullx ive seen so far) and a farm bread dog thats gone past his time but gave my father y

  12. I would bring her out on a lead with more experienced dogs and let her watch the first few runs, let her in for the taste of any catch, a few nights of that will bring on any pup, just dont rush her into anything
  13. hi kris, im from ireland and im new to this forum aswell but i have been day and night hunting with dogs since i started and i find that a good deerhound x saluki hound hound make a good hardy dog for all types of land and quarry.(day or night), this is only from my own experience as i havent seen a dog of this breed since i got my one over two years ago but would recommend that you would enquire more into that type of breeding as you do need to be patient with them.
  14. well lads, im pa from Limerick, Ireland. i am hunting with lurchers for the past three years, i am only after getting access to the internet lately and i am new to all this. i am hoping to expand my knowledge of working dogs and working with dogs through this forum and the experienced hunters on it. i am having trouble uploading pictures to my gallery but i can change my profile picture, would anyone be able to help me with uploading pictures to my gallery! thanks.
  15. Well lads im pa from limerick, Ireland. I have been hunting with lurchers for only three years now. I Have only got access to the internet recently as i was living in the stone age as far as technology is concerned, i am looking foward to expanding my knowledge of working dogs and working with dogs through this forum, i have pictures of my dogs to throw up but i cant figure out how to upload to my gallery, i can only set my profile picture and change it, can anyone help with what i have to do, Thanks!
