    if your joining BASC just for the insurance, there's cheaper organisations out there. I joined National Organisation Of Beaters & Pickers Up only £20 for year.

    Check local press, there was an advert in our's asking for beaters & pickers up, large estate are trying to get people on there systems with the new tax laws this year.

    Hi all Hunting life was recommended by a friend so took a look and joined, Based in scottish borders, passed DSC 1 at Barony college and know registered on DSC 2 . I have 6 ladradors which I use to pick up with during season. Cheers

    She needs to understand that the whistle means stop, so I would get her back on the lead and take her for a walk and every time you stop blow the whistle and put a hand command in her face, make shaw she stops and sits, when she's done that give lots of love or a treat know and again. After a while she will get to know she has to stop and sit when you blow the whistle & always backup with hand command at same time. I do this at feeding time too blow the whistle and give hand command, and when she sits give her the bowl of food, she should after time understand learn that when she doe

    Hi Ive just set a kennels for working dogs to do just that, totally agree why spend hours training a dog to sit, stay and be steady and then put it into a boarding kennels and they are exercised by someone who dosent understand working dogs, and starts playing fetch with a tennis ball and next time your out picking up your dog starts running in. I see your in Northumberland I'm Scottish Borders only just, 3 miles past Kielder.

    If you have your dogs kennel name or KC registration number you can go onto the KC website, and go onto health test result finder and after you type in your dog details in you can find out who the dam & sire are, there hip scores, eye tests etc. Then do the same with the dam & sire and you will find out who there dam & sire are and so on What is your dogs kennel name ?, it a small world in the gun dog world.

    Hi to all, got told about your site yesterday by a member and took a look and decided to join up, Passed DSC 1 at Barony College at the weekend, thanks to Paul Adkins and Andrew.
