  3. That looks good that tuffty ill look into that.. an ill do that with might powder del boy.. I bought some second hand cages other day 7 blocks of threes I'm just in progress of sanding them all down to wood to repaint and hang can't wait till I'm all done

  5. What do you guys use on the floor of your breeding cages or any other cage for that matter?.. I'm just starting out and wanting to keep British birds, I got introduced to a bloke other week an when I went to his avairy he had cat litter in bottom of his cages..

  11. If they were 28 weeks when I got them there 32 weeks now.. I'm in no rush for them to start laying I got them for kids really something for them, it's just bloke next doors telling me all sorts he wanted me to put my finger up its back side other day to see if I could feel an egg I don't no what to believe with him.. He said the comb an face go red when they start laying an if it's not read Theres something up with them or not happy can anyone give me any advise on that please? Thanks
  12. Someone has mentioned to me that they look like young birds with the size of the comb on top of there head.. He also said that the black rock could start laying because of its face starting to go red.. I'm just not sure on what he's saying because he thinks point of lay is a breed of chicken that he used to keep

Might be a daft question for some of you lads but I've just started keeping chickens had them now around two months, when I got them I was told they were 28 weeks old and at point of lay I've got a blue bell, a black rock and two warrens is they a way of telling there age by looks or have I just got to take the blokes word for it? I've kept birds in past but birds I kept was rung as young so I knew by looking at ring how old they where.. Thank Rich

I'm same pal I've just got myself a little russell lakie dog for same thing really working cover to push things out.. he's coming on well at min had him out this morning knocking pheasants up out of rough grass, all learning for him
