So it could be a pet then?.. it WAS getting mobbed by the other Crows too.. What to feed it though? Dog food? This is a short video i shot with my phone, sorry its so dark!

So, i had a call from my mum last night saying my dad had found a Black Bird in the park (While walking his dog) that was not well.. i went to visit today and it turns out to be a near full grown Crow! when he found it it didnt try to get away, he picked it up and it was VERY cold, but still he didnt try to get away.. anyway, he took it to his car to warm it up for a while then tried to release it again, he put it down and walked away, only for it to be attacked by 4 other crows! so my dad shoooed them off and took the bird home.. he spent the evening with it huddled up in his arm like a baby!

Then in theory iv nothing to lose! Lol.. So, is it best just to get a sgc, or FAC? If nothing else I'd like to get an FAC air rifle.. My permissions have a lot of crows & squirrels.. And it would certainly help! But ultimately get an lr or cf at some point..

I guess.. but thought if they were to poke about in where iv been living and they found a slight discrepancy.. like, how do i prove where i was living over that period, its all fairly recent! if they ask where iv lived in the last 5 years and they look in to it, i assume they would check via the Electoral register.. iv nothing to hide what so ever, but it might look odd and i dont want to apply and not get.. 1. its a waste of money, 2. it might affect future applications!!

Thanks a lot guys.. thats really great info.. The only thing im conserned about is if they check the Electoral register! i know its going to souind petty, but i split with my wife for a couple of years and moved back in with the parents.. i was paying bills at the wifes place and my parents but didnt think about the ER! my wife didnt put me down when she got her forms, but my mum is a little old and forgetful, she didnt think to put me down on hers either! so theres nearly 3 years of not being registered anywhere.. i am now as were all sorted but will THAT have a baring?? Thanks again

Ok, im new to all this shooting lark and 6 months ago thought id never get to shoot anyone's land, iv had the chance to shoot illicitly! i know where there are loads of rabbits ect but wont! its not right, and im not going to risk my liberty just for a hobby.. in fact i thought id ploughed another load of money into an activity im not going to be able to do properly! Well.. to all of those that are in that position all i can say is DONT GIVE UP.. im now able to hunt on two properties, one of which is about 200 acres!! and iv just heard from one owner thats got a friend with a very bad rat

Had my first proper day at the new permission today, i was after the crows but only managed one woodie, but it was a worthwhile trip, had a nice chat with the owner, shes going to ask about the land owners in the area for me.. she also has a friend that is over run with bunnies! but they are even further away from us! i think i'll leave that one till spring and stay over to make a weekend of it! lol.. All in all it was a good day.. just need to learn how to make the crows LAND!!!! lol..

Well.. we went out to get some crows today.. ended up with one Woodie!! lol.. The decoys seemed to provoke a reaction, we had a large flock flying around the perm making a lot of noise! im not sure if they were warning about us or checking out the birds that were on the ground (Out decoys) but they didnt land themselves! :-(

Iv got the crow decoys, and I'll definitely put one up high somewhere, not sure about picking up road kill! ;-)

I know what you mean, but if it leads on to other perms which it has already then its worth the trip, also its a day out hunting which is fantastic.. beggers cant be choosers as they say.. I will be keeping an eye out for bunnies though!! ;-)

Thanks for that guys, unfortunately i cant get there any earlier than midday, id like to, also they dont roost on the perm, BUT the other perm im getting is across the road and has quite a few trees including a small wood so will have a good mooch around once iv got the permission letter.. What do u think of the FUD Decoys??

OK, so i got a new permission on account of a Crow problem (and a fox!) so im trying to get over there later this week, but wont get there until about 12pm! Do you guys think this maybe a little late in the day? Iv ordered some FUD decoys, so i will put these out and erect a cam net (Iv got one of the JP clear view nets). When i first visited i only saw one Crow, but loads of woodies.. :-) but i do want to target the Crows first to please the land owner.. So, can anyone offer any advice on whether my ideas are sound or if im barking up the wrong tree?! lol.. Thanks for r

Ill have to check if thanks is cleared for anything more than SG, one of my perms is only 10 acres, and I wouldn't think anything more than .22 would be allowed, I know the owner has a SG.. But the vineyard next door is about 50-60 acres.. I'll have a chat with the manager there.. Thanks again for the info & advice.. It's very much appreciated.. Going to look up mentoring..

Thanks for that, iv no convictions and spent time in the army, I don't know if that would count for anything as it was a long time ago, was an instructor in the ATC too so spent a fair amount of time messing with weapons.. What do they check behind the scenes?

I'm thinking about getting FAC as iv got a couple of permissions and would like to be able to have the choice of gun.. Or even more powerful air rifle.. Or possibly a shotgun, I'd also like to do some target shooting at longer ranges.. So what are the checks that are made? I need to look into this more but thought I'd ask you guys that have been there & done it.. Thanks

That'll be nice! She said i could take any Rabbits i could find.. but i saw NO EVIDENCE that there were ANY!! lol.. maybe if the Fox was gone.. but i expect another will turn up..
