  1. It was a 4-16x50 MAP PRO Kurt. Map-6 reticle type. Unused and brand new. I was shooting with him when it went! It wouldn't hold zero anymore.

    Very poor indeed.

Just sold my MTC Viper 4-16x50 and purchased an Hawke Sidewinder 30 4-16x50 (should be arriving today) - Hope that doesn't go down the same route

  2. Hi, folks.

After asking on here a little while ago about scopes that hopefully won't fall to bits after five minutes on a springer (Hawke.....) some of you mentioned Vortex and after doing a bit more research, I really like the look of them but I'm struggling to find a UK dealer.

    Any help would be great.

    Cheers.

    Which Hawke scope fell apart?

  3.

Get a bigger gun cabinet? Just a thought.

Eminently sensible suggestion Reaper. However, it's not that old and I neither want nor can afford to take the hit on selling it second hand and then adding more money to the pot to buy another one.

A couple of inches off the barrel would likely be the cheaper option.

The cheapest option would be to get a hole saw, and cut a hole in the gun cabinet for your rifle to fit into... :)

  4. The important thing with a pump is that you have control! You can stop at the spot in the pressure curve your airgun likes. While, with a scuba tank, it's hard to stop at right the exact point because the pressure rises very fast.

Also, once a scuba tank or carbon fiber tank starts losing its pressure, you cannot put more into a gun than is available in the tank. But, if you don't feel the difference, there is no point in asking. Good question, good topic!Erm, i

Erm....It's not hard to stop at the exact point at all....It's really easy....You just open the valve slowly and keep it that way, slowly opening as you go....Its EASY!!!!

  5. Ok....

Day off today, so got my FX Bobcat .22 and my Weihrauch HW100KT .177 zeroed in....

    Refilled both to 200 bar....

Out of the box, here are the groupings using a full mag at 25 yards....

First up the HW100 using AA Diablo Field 8.4gr - 14 shots....

Next the Bobcat using H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66gr - 12 shots....

Out of the box, I'm pleased with the results.... (Obviously they've not bedded in yet neither)

The cocking mechanism of the Bobcat is really good. Very similar to the Weihrauch.

The loading of the HW100 feels ever so slightly smoother, however, I think this is down to the H & N Pellets, as some of the skirts don't look in the best of condition, so will be purchasing some AA Diablo Fields for the Bobcat too and will update my findings....

The Bobcat fits in the shoulder nice, and the adjustable butt pad is also a bonus.

The cheek piece on the Bobcat is positioned really well.

There are 3 power settings on the Bobcat, but I left it the highest setting so I've not tried the lowest.

The Bobcat is loud, well loud enough to make my neighbours close their doors this fine Sunday in Hull :icon_redface: (I have ordered a moderator they'll be pleased to know)....

All in all, I'm very pleased with both rifles, as I'm sure once they're bedded in, they'll work even better.

To be honest, if I had purchased the Bobcat first, I probably wouldn't have even bothered getting an HW100, however, I'm still keeping it :whistling:

Would I recommend the Bobcat - HELL YEAH

  6. Oh.....!! You have some patience.

I would have had a 500w halogen spotlight mounted on the scope and would be shooting the crap out of everything in the garden by now.

I'm not so fussed about the grouping as you may be a shit shot. How it handles and shoots etc is what I'm interested in.

    Atvb ;)

I tried getting the day off work but failed, lol

I don't want to shoot it at night because it's rather loud (sounds like a whip cracking), which is why I spent a little time shopping in order to keep my neighbours at bay...

But, I'm gonna put a few through it on Sunday and will post my findings :)

  7. Kurt that's mint. How much do they retail at? Is there a wait for them?

Solware charge £1398 I believe and BAR charge £1198.

When I contacted them both, they said they sold out straight away and it'd be about 10 weeks before the next lot arrive.

However, I found Shooting Supplies Ltd were advertising them. Got it for £1210 and £16 postage.

I think he said he had 3 in. I ordered mine on Tuesday morning and it was with my RFD on Wednesday.

    Great service

  8. Looking at the pics on here of the Indy:-

    http://tedsholdover.com/2013/08/08/fx_bobcat_indy_bullpups_arrive/

The Indy has a second screw through the Picatinny rail underneath at the front, and inside the stock of my Bobcat, you can see, there's a partial whole in exactly the same place, but it doesn't go through, so these both have identical stocks, but the Bobcat only has one screw, so I guess it's supposed to be like it is

  9. Just tightened it up as best as possible. It's not loose as such. It does need pulling away from the stock for you to see movement, and you can hold it by the stock, turn it upside down and shake it and can't feel no wobble.

Think it you physically have to pull it up to notice it.... Thank God :victory:

It's not a fraction as bad as a Daystate Air Ranger I used to have which was like it as new
