  1. Tikka T3 - excellent 'out of the box' accuracy, you'll not go wrong with it. Remington 700 - I love em', but the SPS stocks are shite, they flex real easy. If you buy a Remmy 700 SPS change the stock! I have both, a 700 in .243ai with a Mcmillan stock and a T3 in 6.5x55 witha Mcmillan stock, I must say I prefer the Remmy, but that's just my opinion.
  2. Ok.....lol The OP asked for rangefinder advice. Advice from lots of folk on anything will, nine times out of ten, spark disagreement because opinions always have and always will vary. But, it would be a boring world if we all agreed on everything would it not?
  3. What does the Leica unit do that the Opticron doesn`t ?? Nothing,, it`s no more accurate and the display is no better. The only difference is the hundreds of pounds extra added onto the price. If you read my post you will see that I never mentioned Opticron, I was commenting on the units that I have experience on, it would have been unfair to comment on the units that I haven't used, don't you think? On a side note, why do people use two questions marks? Is that a way of showing your disagreement?
  4. Save the money up and buy a Leica CRF, I have tried Leupold and Newcon, both are poor in comparison to Leica. I liked my CRF1200 a lot but have since sold it and my Swartovski binos and bought a pair of Leica Geovid rangefinder bino's. Cry once, buy once, get a Leica unit.
  5. If you are after a ballistic calculator look at Exbal from Perry-Systems http://www.perry-systems.com/
  6. If you could strectch to it, financially, add a bit more to your budget and purchase a second hand S&B, it will out perform the cheaper scopes out there by far Buy the right scope first time.
  7. I have always used 10x42, my Swaro's were 10x42, it's just what I'm used to and get on well with. You'll not go wrong with a set of these bino's, the mag is your choice!
  8. Got a pair of these and love 'em. But how does the scan mode work? What I did was press the button so the red box shows, then when you press it again to 'range' a target keep it pressed and as you look round at different objects it will give you 'range' readings of anything the laser hits. It is, however, supposed to shorten battery life.
  9. Just found the 'Scan Mode' (constant metering), excellent bit of kit these bino's are!!
  10. Warwickshire are a hell of a lot quicker, the standard time would probably be a coupl,e of weeks I would imagine. I once drove to the Police HQ - Firearms Dept (about a 30 minute drive) and they carried out a variation supplying the new FAC there and then, it literally took half an hour. I that half an hour they even made me a coffee!!
  11. Thanks, yeah it certainly is with these too, first opinions are that they are feckin' great.
  12. Well I took the plunge and acquired a new set of binoculars, Leica 10x42 Geovids, collected them today. They seem excellent, the glass is as good as, if not better than my Swarovski 10x42 EL's. Very impressed with them. Regards 243ACK
  13. Thanks I didn't no, perhaps I should have. Never mind, I'm here now.
  14. Hello, I'm 243ACK, formerly called Spangle on here but my log in wouldn't work. Well, I could log in but couldn't post or pm anyone for assistance so I rejoined. Regards 243ACK
