Me and my cousin took a 5hour trip to north wales he was going to look at a deerhound bull greyhound I was going for a ride but when we got there this scruffy looking bedlington x was looking at me from the back of the Land Rover he was obviously not being looked after so I asked if he was for sale and ended up paying £20 for him brought him back wormed washed and flead some good food and he's settled in nicely once he's ready I will see how he goes

Took my two dogs for a quick walk along a bridle path right outside where I live rounds a corner by a river and the terrier bolts into the hedge the lurchers ears go up and he smashes throu behind her the field they run into is over grown so didn't take much notice so I walk to a opening and look acrss can't see the dogs then I hear a dog scream so I run over towards the sound and my Lurcher is climbing out of a ditch holding his front leg up gets to me and lays down so I feel all his leg not broke no swelling all moving so I carry the heavy basxxrd to the river let him stand in it haves a drink but he can't put any pressure on his leg atall not sure what he has done but it looks like it is going to take awhile before he is back running again I am gutted

To be honest both the Plummer bitch and my lakey Russell bitch are both working how I want so i don't think it would matter which one I use I was just wondering if anyone had experience of a Plummer x lakie russell really I have plenty of time just thought I might get some feedback

Posted in the earth dog section I just thought I should have posted in this section basically I have a Lakeland Russell bitch for bushing she does her job well but I think it's time I brought a pup in I can have a pure Plummer from seasoned dogs or I can use the sire to line my bitch not made my mind up what to do just looking for opinions really
-
Alright boys I do a bit of bushing I have a Lakeland Russell bitch coming eight this year always done what I want of her and I think it's time to bring another pup in and I'm not sure what to do I can have a pure Plummer pup the bitch is 6 and the dog is 7 they have both seen plenty of work or I don't know whether to wait till my bitch comes in season and use the Plummer dog over her just looking for opinions really

i never said I got a dog because he,s white I said I got a dog because his size and coat suits the type of land I work on, and not because he is bred by crossing a meriad of breeds that are more often just what people tell you, I am only asking because I have never really known it until I came on here, people just seem a little obsessed with certain crosses, when in truth most are mongrels and the owners only know what people have told them,You have a working dog because he has a white face and saddle? And I think people want to know what is in the dogs makeup to give them some idea of what to expect and they choose as to what suits them if I was hunting rabbits I would look for a smaller type like a Bridlington or a collie cross if it was hares I would look for a saluki type not hap hazardly pick a dog because it has a certain marking

No you said you have a collie cross purely for the fact he is predominantly white with a black face and saddle
-
Bridlington crosses, are'nt they the 800 year old line that can be trained what not to chase and are bred in the east riding ?You have a working dog because he has a white face and saddle? Yeh that's the ones they go back 800 years in the same family that actually invented the lurcher
