  6. Hi, just depends on the piece of crystal and also on how the engraving is done -this one is engraved into the back of the piece which is alot more work -cost of this was £250 ,but a dog's head on a whisky tumbler would be £70 working from you photo
  7. This is an optical block I was commissioned to hand engrave with a portrait of a customers dog named Dylan. The dog is engraved into the back of the block to give a more sculpural effect ,so obviously I had to engrave it in mirror image and at different depths . All of the engraving is carried out freehand using a dental drill and diamond burrs, also some stone burrs and polishers for the darker areas.
  8. is that laser etched ? No Laser's, no sandblasting -all done freehand using a dental drill ,but I have used some acid etch on the sky using an etching paste and applied by artist brushes to get the soft nightime sky effect
  9. This was a difficult piece to photograph (I take my own photo's) so I don't have other angles but the vase is oval in shape
  10. The 3D effect ones like this take roughly 3-4 days to complete
  11. Another moonlight scene similar to the wolf one I put on here but on a vase- all hand engraved front and back to give a 3 dimensional effect
  12. Yes this is all my own work-done using a dental drill .I have been a professional engraver for 32 years can you put some of your other work up, would be good to see and its something different from what i usually see on here Have a look on his website there's loads of examples http://www.davidwhymancrystal.co.uk/hunting-shooting-and-fishing/. Some really nice work and very detailed, how long does each engraving take? The stock engravings are cool too, but what kind of price range does your work sell for? Usually an absence of price means I can't afford it, but there will be some on he
  13. my website is www.davidwhymancrystal.co.uk if you want to take a look
  14. I can engrave or stock carve anything to your request
  15. I have been a professional glass engraver for 31 years ,but I have never carved wood before .I decided to carve the stock of my old .270 Parker Hale rifle after having the varnish finish stripped and having an oiled finish instead (never liked the polyurithane finish) so this is my first attempt at carving wood using the same dental drill that I use for my glass, but using small and medium tungston carbide cutters instead of the usual diamond burrs that I use for the glass.
  16. Hi ,just depends how it's done -from £70 for a tumbler with pet hand engraved on front -to one like the roe which is deeply engraved into the back and some work on the front - this would be £350 because it is much more work and the 6 inch wedge circle is optical crystal (the most expensive crystal but perfect in every way)- just depends on how much work is involved -the one below with the fox is £450 engraved on a 7inch wedge circle of optical crystal-alot of work on this one
  17. Hi I am new to here. I am a professional glass engraver (31 years) and have been shooting since a small boy, I have been a keen deer stalker for the past 30 years managing Red, Roe, Fallow, Sika ,Muntjac ,and only a few chinese water deer.
