  1. Iam going for fac air because flatter line,a bit more knock down power,I will then feel more confident taking shots at the 50/60 yard range,(I don't need all the power and risk of ricoche from 22 lr around livestock,a lot of lambs at moment ),elevated shots,( not permitted with live rounds ) I done a bit of reading up and a 25 fpe air rifle will max out at 438 yrds and retain 0.848 fpe,a 22 lr will reach 2000 yards and retain 9.7fpe,wow that's a long way and will still do a lot of damage. Personally iam not ready for that yet who knows after a year or so with my fac air I might feel the need a
  2. thanks for the replies,i will narrow my choices down to rapid,aa,410/510,possible s10 although ive heard these are very heavy, daystate out of my price range. nice to know 25fpe and 16grn pellets is doable. i will be happy to hear of other fac air rifle reccomentations, thanks
  3. around the 25fpe should suit me and the ground i shoot. with 16 grn aaf,a 40yrd zero,850fps,60yrds is a shade pass 1 mil dot with 15.7ftlbs retained energy at 60yrds. i could go 35/40fpe but i feel it would wasted air rather have extra shots
  4. if they are full power that sounds good,I'm only after around 25 fpe so I could poss get 40 shots from aa 410 ,another option. Thanks
  5. No surprise there, thought rapid would be first to appear. Anything else out there being used ,s10,fx,or the r10 ,or even the air arms rifles, looking for good shot count poss around 35/40 per fill, will I only get that with buddy bottle guns ,or will I get that with the aa 410/510
  6. iam going for a fac air ticket so hopefully in a few weeks i will be looking for a fac air rifle. The question is which one, looking for something in .22 reliable not to heavy ,easy to work on ,about 25 fpe which ones should i be looking at? the last 6 years or so ive had bsa ,lightening and at the moment t10,i have no probs with bsa but dont know what they are like in fac , thanks
  7. thanks 6-8 weeks roughly ,not bad heard of worst
  8. Just curious ,how long a wait roughly to have my ticket granted for fac air in devon&cornwall area thanks
  9. i am a bit concerred now,my refs said they should get them in the post for me tomorrow. dont know if they left those questions blank or put no/none in the boxes. i would of thought by puting something in the box even if it is just no would be better,at least the feo would know the question was read and not just missed by mistake,o well fingers crossed.
  10. ya ,i think i will take one step at a time ,hand my forms in and get my ticket first. ive put down 3 land owners whos permission i got theres plenty of land there for me if i get a closed ticket, if it comes back open brilliant if not i will try in 12 months
  11. just filled my forms out for fac air thanks to this thread,i have a question. ive used sub 12ftlbs air rifles for several years on and off . the last 3 plus years using them regular for pest control on my permissions. working with the farming community for the last 27 years i get lots of offers to shoot on there land. is this worth writing down and putting in with my fac application to give me a better chance of an open ticket. or am i pushing my luck
