  1. You must be having warmer days than down south
  2. Finding this one interesting, in my mind there is no doubt that your results are doable in the right conditions. and would say keep doing what you do. dont worry about the nay sayers that sit in these forums every hour of the day they seem to have become very cynical. i do agree that cci volocitiors are a bit wild at times but that all depends on your barrel i have a rifle that is so fussy about its food i nearly changed it.
  3. also Mitchell interested in your choice of barrel twist 1:12 why did you pick that twist, does it infuence your bullet size my 223 with the same twist wont stabilize a bullet the size of a 55g nosler balistic tip cant remeber off hand how long they are but it will work well with the slightly shorter hornady 55g.
  4. mitchell iam loving your bench did you make it yourself. what a good tool for zeroing. have used the heavy benchs on the range but yours looks portable nice kit.
  5. does anyone have a sako s491
  6. anyone tell me how you pm someone on here.
  7. Well i will tell you what iam glad this aint a court cos u lot are way off the mark but yes iam am going to hang around this site for a while. it would take a bit more than a few digs from a few armchair vertual hunters to get rid of me!!!!!!!!!!. but i do think that the play ground bullying is poor form especialy from adults!!.
  8. Duncan perhaps u can tell me how this went from being about what is stated on firearms certs to me finding myself having to defend my presence in this forum, from every one that comes in????????????????
  9. thursodog, dont think i have been confrontational at all, i dont think iam hormonal and i was never in to comics so forgive me if i have no idea what your talking about.
  10. well thankyou for that Duncan iam not richmcgin iam a civil servent from somerset but iam a forgiving old soul so all those that had a dig just for the sake of it you are forgiven, there what a nice chap iam.!!!!!!!!
  11. Thats a bit rude Foxdropper, if you guys dont want people to join in perhaps you should put that the tread is private. not sure what i said to start all this dont think i have disagreed with anyone or even expressed an opinon just tried to join in a chat ??????
  12. Not a very welcoming bunch are you is it some kind of initiation we have to go through????????????
  13. Yep your right i joined today as i said on my first post. so no big secret there and iam afraid you take it wrong although i do see where your coming from and my first name is richard but my surname is not mcgin. not sure why you would be confused about my first 2 posts, and the reason i came to this thread was because it interested me, I thought that the purpose of these forums was discussion. i think that my first post was commenting on what was covered my ticket and that seemed to be where the thread had led to. i hope this clears up your confusion Deker. I dont think i have said anything o
  14. well i dont have a .17 so would find it dificult to comment with any accuracy and a limmited understanding of balistics. but i thought that it was generally good practice to limit fox shooting to -100yrd with the 17hmr but reading this thread i see that, that is not the case.
  15. Well iam no expert but i must admit that what he said made sense to me,and i dont have a degree, and am no instructor, designer, and i miss my fair quota of shots. point being as an average shot i would not take head shots at anything over 100yrds with my 223 i know it will group quarter minute groups at 100yrds on the range but in the field the conditions vary.
  16. Hi all new here so please be a little gentler with me than you have been over the past few pages with another!!!!!!!!!!. Have found the last 4 pages quite interesting and the views expressed. personally i would always use common sense and stay within the law. Knowing the your own limits as well as those of your equipment, we all like to think we are born snipers but in reality most of us are just average shots!!!. i have Fox control on my certificate for both my 223 and 22lr. i also have a section 1 shotgun which also has fox control. i must admit i have my views on .17 and foxes, but will ke
