  1. haha i learnt that with the older jill a couple of weeks ago when i threw a leg in every day for a week and didnt think to check the bedding area she had a pile of chicken in her bed was just lucky the weather been crap otherwise could of been a bit of a mess.wont do that again. any comments on the soya?
  2. just bung a leg in and remove the next mornin then,do you use any dry or just fresh
  3. what and how often would you feed a 9 week old kit just picked her up yesturday fed her a small amount of dry ferret complete and some chicken 3 times today and seems starved each time even though she was only finishing off the last piece about an hour before i put the next lot in,is it possible to over feed or will they just eat what they want to and leave the rest. also is soya milk any use to them or no good as an alternative to lactose free milk or just water atb
  4. thats shit hope you got your money back ?
  5. thanks for comments and the offer gaz, i have decided to go to rotherham on wed afternoon to collect a single albino jill kit thats advertised then pick the lad up another when theres more about as this seems an easier option after pulling my hair out all week. im actually quite surprised at how difficult this has been, probabally a bit early in the season atb
  6. wow what an offer im not even as far as hull mate its the nearest rescue im between york and malton ,even pair of young jills would do the job , i have a kit on way for myself its the lads b`day causing an issue ,maybe its a bit soon but they are about just not here.if all else fails i think theres some farmers markets on next weekend (b`day wed) atb
  7. this is what im thinking no intention of breeding but like to leave my options open and as im after 2 jills dont fancy forking out 100 notes for a pair of ferrets that may not even work. i have a 1yr old jill who is a great little ferret but after these for my lad and just spent a fortune kitting him out with the rest of the gear he needs as i thought id be able to pick some ferrets up no prob`s
  8. i deal with a lot of farmers and am only just starting to pick up permissions they are wary of dogs and strangers but most are spot on once you get to know them or find a common interest/ground. farmers are use to people knickin there stuff destroying there livlihoods etc ,like others have said he cant be that against you otherwise he would of told you to fek off
  9. did you go to college? not for gamekeeping, i did a construction course at college, it was all about management positions, and basically was my first impression of building a career in this country, i hated it, then i tried art, then i broke my leg and couldnt do anything physical for a year, then i worked on the bins, then in a warehouse, then as a gamekeeper. haha, there you go, my life story for the past 6/7 years. go travelling in thailand mate ul love it
  10. thats what i thought but its 6 jills in 3 weeks
  11. first class that is mate ! where did you get the piping as its a fortune in shops
  12. yer i appreciate the cost of neutering but as i wasnt planning on having that done its an expense i can do without also i was after younger ferrets than neutering age
  13. well just been on hull rescues website and can see pros and cons 40quid for a versectomised hob or 50 quid for a neutered jill if youre after a v hob fair price if your just after a ferret quite pricey as there all neutered hmm
  14. not a bad thought think ive got some old wardrobe doors in loft come to think of it bought some reasonable hinges at wilko`s for a pund. felt aint cheap like
  15. can we see piks of your ferret runs lads and lass`s ,i know its probably been done before and theres a recent thread about sheds or courts but would like some further inspiration about finishing off my ferret run also how you guys have roofed them mesh or solid roofs atb
  16. 2 young ferrets still wanted for next wed ?
  17. comments on the roof, was gonna just put a mesh roof on but the hutch would last longer with a felt roof although there will be quite a bit of weight the roof is going to be 7 foot wide.the last two foot is going to be built up another 4 foot or so between the windows
