How different......
  2. What are you actually trying to say here? We have certainly improved the dogs through selective breeding. For such a little island we do know a thing or two about dogs.

The first salukis came here in the 1800,s so they have done pretty well for ducks out of the desert. dont forget all the good running dogs greyhounds , salukis etc originate historically in the Middle East what would you lads have been coursing without them ?Men originated in Africa, what would you lads be doing and they not settled in the Middle East? 5,950 years of hunting in an environment that takes them out of their comfort zone. That's one question, just answer it please. You decide for yourself. i am happy with my salukis and will continue to be .No one is selling you anything so crack on . You know my opinion, I'm just asking you that question. In your view what is the better hare dog?

  13. The ability to be a better hare dog than a coursing bred lurcher, is that correct? in your opinion based on what and what is a lurcher ?So you're saying that the Saluki is a better hare dog then? Not just my opinion now is it? Where have I said that ?your the one talking about whats best what terrier is the best fox dog? So if you're not saying that then you're admitting the Saluki is lacking the ability to be the utimate hare dog??
  14. I can't understand that logic. I'm going overboard here but would you enjoy watching a collie course a hare knowing full well it won't catch it? Have you got anything that will run a hare let alone catch it? Not ATM and your point is??????? I could buy a dog tomorrow that would catch a hare, let's not change the subject at hand here. I know your game you scallywag....l

  20. Coursing dogs just like the Saluki have been bred to run and catch things, it just happens that the men who use them run the Hare. The aim of the game is to catch the hare when all is said and done, it just goes to show how great these coursing bred dogs are to better the Saluki at running the h Genuine coursing you only got 1 p0int for catching the hare your confusing coursing and matching but I will bow to your obvious superior knowledge of running dogsI know what the rules of coursing are ya plank. I'm talking about real coursing, for Mr's. Obviously your knowledge is beyond all the grea
  21. Another one that cant read go read my previous posts. Two posts back I refer to Coursing bred dogs specifically for hares your abit like a Saluki full of wind. So it's obvious the pures are lacking something to be top class hare dogs. Wouldn't the faster strains make the grade against the top coursing dogs over here?

  24. theres so much enjoyment in running hares catch or no catch, but now people expect too catch everytime even though its top class quarry when its done right winter they unreal, even the very best dogs get smoked now and again, theres not one alive that's never missed that's summat I do know lol there are some real top class dogs that kill very high percentages of what they run week in and week out, fair play to them cos its a hard job keeping them right for that Oh without a doubt, if I had my way every hare caught by a dog would be released unharmed. I wonder how a great Saluki would com
  25. How many of the top hare dogs will take deer. fox etc ? not many because most coursing lads only run 1 quarry. but I know plenty of coursing salukis that run all game so its horses for courses I'm guessing plenty would if given the chance, a Saluki isn't an out and out fox dog let's be honest here.
