  7. How essential is it to have part of the roof area open? I realise it's better but just how important is it as my mews is only 6ft deep so would 2ft of open area alont the full 10ft width be ok? If so is wire mesh the best thing? thanks for the help/advice
  8. yea though about conduit, good and strong but have to keep it looking like it fits in with the surroundings etc cheers, looking forward to getting the bird in there now (hawk type not tart type) lol
  9. yes but sorted em now billy cheers, have pinned each one top n bottom to make sure and like you and the joiner say they'll swell anyway so no probs later in week gonna get started on roof sections, looks like i'm getting some felt cheap of a builder mate which'll do for roof base sheet with green felt on top (getting green felt for £18 for a 10x1 mtr roll) need ideas for inside it now, what to put in for bird, what size perch, branches etc etc
  10. some of the bars are a little bit slack but got a plan for them, gonna use expanding glue and also pin them (tedious job but needs to be done billy) all in all very happy with my work, and even more happy i had some help for't joiner and some tips from here thanks
  11. yes grovesy, there will be a 2nd door system going in mate (just have to think on that yet) and yes steve there will be a plywood going in both front and back!.   15. Must admit building aviaries is one of my pet hates. Millet helped me bigtime with this last build, if I did it my way it would have been totaly on the piss and would have fell down by now . Now I know you like doing it you can come and build mine if I need any ihn the future .   21. Well here goes with the start of our mews build. We're building on a sloped garden down to't river so obviously need to make sure it's built high enough up't garden not to get wet! Had to dig out a couple of ton of soil/earth at the upper end so it's level at't lower end so the upper end starts of around 2ft under ground with breeze block reinforced edges so the earth doesn't fall in! It has hardcore, pierced plastic ground sheeting with pea gravel on top so drainage should be good. It was always gonna be difficult to sort the wooden framework in sections but thankfully my mate helped out. T
  22. have to say no matter what forum you're on there's always 'discussions' one way or the other mate, regardless of whether it's hunting,sports,hobbies etc etc end of't day we all enjoy the same thing!

  24. totallty missing the point ,regarding the course i was saying that the people offering them are only after your money and dont give A CRAP about you being the next falconer or they would offer you it for free,what it is to them is buisness and praying on people. regarding harris hawks u have to look at the amount that are being bred and bought ,the vast majority get a harris for a season or 2 and in that time normally start talking about how much they want a gos next or long wing and soon sell the harris orand get what they wanted in the first place so as i was saying if you want a gos or e
