    the greyhound isnt about that can kill hares single handed one bend thats the end of the greyhound its thrown out a mile and finished by the time it gets back on terms thats if the hare hasnt made cover by then if its on open land then the greyhound jacks fact you get lucky now and again if you get the lay right and the greyhound is over the top of it getting up but has for killing hares the greyhound comes a very poor second ive trained greyhounds for the track and coursed greyhounds hare killers they most certainly are not

    i was a year looking for a saluki bitch before l got one its like looking for gold we searched the country for one and its no good chasing the kennel club members for one because they think theyve got exclusive rights to salukies and no one else should have one and if you approach any of them they warn other people not to sell any they are a lot of b*****ds i found a bitch in scotland in the end they do come about but they are few and far between there is a litter of pedigree pups due in hereford in january from working salukies they will be ready in february if you aint had no joy pm me for the number you can book one of them hope this helps

    ive coursed hares from reading right up to sleaford in lincolnshire and i can say honestly in the middle of winter nothing compares to fen hares and in my opinion if you walk em up on short slips your asking for trouble because if a dog is up on em quick on open land hes going into quick and making mistakes he will get dragged all over the county by em pull over on the side of a lane and find one of the side of the road and see how many you kill dont forget these hares are being run two or three times a week by some of the best dogs in the country and surviving to tell the tale i dont think anything compares to the fen hare you get good hares up and down the country but the fen hare is the best

    we used to get an large hemp sack quater fill it with sheeps guts out of the slaughter house get a bike wheel put it into the sack and put a couple of ties through the sack around the wheel to keep it in place put a length of 4 inch plastic pipe about four foot long into the sack into the spokes of the wheel tie the neck of the sack to the pipe you have about two foot of pipe protruding from the sack put it out into the stream and leave it for a few days tied of with a length of rope to a bhsh or something if theres eels there you will have em ive had dozens in the bag when ive gone back

    But why do people have this opinion of lucky bred dogs surely they arent bad, i would of though they were better than ssome fairly average stuff? :blink:

    jealousy springs to mind a mate of mine paid cn 2000 pound for a pup bred along some of the lines previously mentioned and to quote him it wasnt worth a bowl of ferret shit he gave it away as a lamper it wasnt any good for that all the so called great dogs have put crap on the floor lucky was a great dog and he produced good stock as well as bad lucky did cover more bitches than charlie yes and he covered a lot of crap bitches as well percent wise the bitch is more dominant than the dog genetically so blame the bitches as much as the dog ive had youngsters out of blomdie in the past they all jacked on crap hares on easy hares do we ever hear dont go there she throws jackers no and rightly so she was a great animal this lads young dog as got as good a chance as the next

    if he had raped some ones kids or kicked f**k out of a pensioner some where he would of had a supervision order because he sold some wormers and antibiotics and jabbed a few dogs he goes to jail and he got to be 70 yrs old makes you laugh if the vets in this country werent so intent on ripping us of there wouldnt be a market for people like frenchy to deal in you can quite easily buy vaccinations most parts of the country on the black market for a tenner at my local vets its 70 pound i done 5 pups a fortnight ago 50 pound i bet he dont have any toiletries from body shop or custard creams like those illegals in oxford i feel sorry for the bloke

    im not saying the couldnt kill decent hauls on the lamp but what is the ingredient that stops them being able to kill hares regulary daytime? if they can kill 20 on the lamp, why arnt all the daytime lads using them for matching,,there has to be something missing,,,its either speed or stamina..i dont mean this as an argument it would just be nice to put an end to the continuing argument..why cant the collie/minshaw x kill hares regular in daytime???? saluki x can do it daytime and on the lamp....there is a few lads on here that use saluki x for ferreting, lamping ,bushing etc..but how many serious coursing lads are running colllie/minshaw dogs????

     

    A heavy saturated saluki x killing hares into double figures on the lamp! has anyone seen this or got a saluki x what kills daytime hares with ease that can go into double figures regulary on the lamp?
