  1. I was wondering what the best stuff to use to put in my ferret hutch? I used woodshavings but the shavings stuck to the meat I was giving them. I've got 8wk old kits and didn't want them eating the shavings. I decided to put newspaper in the main run and keep using blankets/ straw in the bed compartment. The newspaper works fine but it get soaked with the piss very easily and stays wet whereas shavings soak the piss up. Any suggestions? Can't be doing with wood shavings all round my garage. Thnx

  7. I don't know if anybody has thought of this but I kept going in to my ferret hutch and they had decided it was a game to tip their food bowls over and their food was everywhere. I racked my brains and seen a bird bowl in pets at home designed to screw on the bars or a bird cage. They came in various sizes but I got small. I put them on the mesh on my hutch doors but the ferrets still manages to swivel them and loosen the screw ad tip it over. I got a new hutch 2 days ago and wanted to do things right with this cracking hutch. I drilled a small hole in the wood that separates the main compa
  8. Hi, I'm looking for somebody who wouldn't mind taking me out ferreting with them so I can gain some vital experience. I moved to Scotland from widnes about 5 year ago and worked as an apprentice gamekeeper (skivvy). I kept the gamekeepers ferrets for him and went out ferreting with him a few times, nothing much. I've done the shooting, all kinds of work/ hunting and pest controll. I've just got 3 hob kits. One is about 15weeks old and the other 2 are from the same litter and are 7weeks old. I'm looking to go out with someone preferably on weekends to get some more knowledge if how to work them
  9. Anybody know if there's any ferret show near Edinburgh? Thanks
