  1. with the season finished how do you lads keep your dogs fitness up when there is no work for them , obviously the dogs get walked but being as the weather is warm i find my dogs get tired easier and dont think its fair to try and walk them miles . any info would be great cheers Trinder
  2. Some nice russells you got there mate , atb with them
  3. Ive been wondering the same thing tbh mate as im new to the digging game , i have no expierence on the matter but my thoughts are that its the dog in the situation , if you have a dog that is very game and has no sense of self preservation and just wants a scrap then its more likely to happen . Where as if you had a bayer/mixer type that would stay out of reach and mix it up when needs be then imo it would be less likely . Like i said im new to digging this is just my opinion not expierence Atb Trinder
  4. He hasnt let me down so far lol , he is supposedly 1/4 lakeland , he is 2 now and has started going to ground , i got him for bushing but he is a tough little fkr and isnt fazed by gettin bit back so hopefully next season he should be flat out below ground aswell as above Cheers Trinder Edited to say he usualy has a much thicker wiry coat but i gave him a trim with the buzzers yesterday
  5. Just read up on breed , sounds like could be a good additon to make up of a lurcher , i know what we have now in this country are doing the job , but could be interesting if you could find some tidy blood to introduce
  6. The last dog looks allright to me , never heard of it before, anyone know anything bout the breed
  7. Not my dog so nothing i could say really but my mate had a word
  8. Im 26 and dont own a bull x , my mate is young and a bit gullible tbh but the lad who sold him the dog is supposedly a good dog man , i havent been in the game long its mine and my dogs first season , hence my lacck of experience , i know enough to keep my kennels in order though and wouldnt ever buy shit , pups from proven workers would be all id buy and when i say pup i mean pup anything over 12 wks is a no go for me
  9. Charts , the guy he bought it off is supposedly a friend and never thought he would do this its a shitstorm , the bitch was owned by one guy but kenneld by another then sold to my mate its very fukd up situation
  10. The sire is a beast and one hell of a grafter , n the bitch is out of shit hot stuff but being unproven and so young i wouldnt even consider one as id only get a pup from 2 proven workers and i wouldnt feel right passing them off , ive told my mate this but i dont think he botherd tbh
  11. Personally id cull them all but thats not my decision as not my dog
  12. My mate bought a dog about 4 weeks ago and she is in pup , the bitch is only 10 and half month old ! The guy who had he before him kenneld her with a dog and obviously got rid when he discoverd they had latched imo thats a c**ts move ! What would you lads n ladies do? Atb Trinder
  13. Attenborough is awesome fair play , really interesting that was
  14. that was a long time ago mate how can you say the dog is shit you never see it runthat black dog was a pup at the time its the man that has the dog is shit not the dog fair enough ive never seen the dog run and its mainly down to handler but come on the other dog put it on a plate for it , i dont agree with what the lad did but the black dog couldve nailed that
  15. What a fkin dick , his dog looked shit too Atb Trinder
  16. Sorry for your loss mate R.I.P Penny
  17. A lad i know through a friend lost a terrier not long ago to a heart attack on a dig , i know bad things happen in the terrier game but it must be really hard to deal with . Touch wood i havent had to go through it , a mate of mine has lost a few dogs aswell and says it doesnt get any easier no matter how many you have lost over the years most of the dogs he has lost were lurchers which broke their necks or basicly hit their heads and died from blunt trauma . My dogs have had a few accidents but nothing too serious and its only theirs and my first season , would any of you lads or lasses like
  18. if you can find hares within 40mile of where i live id give you a grand ! And who do u think you are callin me a bellend ? My point of the post was about the dog that caught it not the situation so do one you fkin prick is there anywhere in Wales that doesn't have hares within a 40 mile radius???? Thought they were throughout the UK to be honest? if i wanted to find hare id have to do a trip over the bridge , same goes for all the lads i know , dont get me wrong there could be a few on the big estates but dont fancy getting my dog shot by the keepers
  19. if you can find hares within 40mile of where i live id give you a grand ! And who do u think you are callin me a bellend ? My point of the post was about the dog that caught it not the situation so do one you fkin prick
  20. Ok cheers like i said i dont see them round my way so havent botherd learning bout them , bunnys and teeth is all i do lol
  21. How is greyhound blood no good in hunting dogs mate ? Ive seen greyhound base lurchers do serious work , i know of a bull/wheaton/greyhound that will take red stags single handed , if thats not a hunting dog i dont know what is Cheers Trinder
  22. Im not saying it wasnt , just looked quite lean on the pic and if they were boxing doesnt that mean their males , i dont see hares round my way and my mate lives up country so ive had no way of seeing it for myself
  23. Well when i rang him he said there was 2 boxing and he slipped at the 2 and his dog took one , i wasnt there so cant say but going from the pic it didnt look like a big milky doe as u put it Cheers Trinder
