Lost my young bitch 'Gin' last night whilst out lamping she would have been 2 at the end of the month, things were going well had some great runs catches and retrieves, but the last run was different as she walked her rabbit to the hedge, myself and Sirius could tell something was up and suspected a pulled muscle or just knackered, I said to Sirius think she's had enough tonight but as we got to her with head stooped she looked at me and knew there was a bigger problem her back legs went immediately started shaking uncontrollably her eyes said it all.   5. Mine leaked badly, but after putting a good quality leather wax on they've been fine, I got the high leg type but still not great support on the ankles, think I paid £65 on eBay for a last season model, for the money there not bad.

    A work colleague is looking at getting a dog to use with his Harris, bushing dog I suppose, not something I'd know about so suggestions please, doesn't want a spaniel but wouldn't mind something with it in, not slow to mature and easily trainable. Thanks

I wouldn't use hay: I used it once, many years ago when I first started keeping ferrets; some of the new born kits got entangled in the thin strands: one was strangled, and the others had to be cut out of the mess with tiny scissors. Never used hay again, plus it is very hot to use as bedding in the summer time: people used to make a hay box to act as a slow cooker: a wooden box filled with hay in which you put the just-brought-to-the-boil pot of stew: over the next 24 hours the hay kept it hot enough to finish cooking. I always use straw: barley straw, not wheat, as barley isn't so dusty. It
  13. Handy post this, anyone have advice on nest bedding? Used wood shavings and hay in the passed, but have lost a small number of kits from both litters.. More in hay bedding tho, is shavings best and more suitable? Thanks
