    Here is a pic of my new pup,she is now 9 months old and she was sold to me as a collie x grey x whippet / collie saluki, grey, out of top class parents She has been out lamping a few times but seems to be scared of the dark which is a bit of a bummer as I was told the old yarn that her parents knock em over night after night, blah, blah and she cost me a considerable sum because of her 'lamping bloodlines' and she still hasn't caught anything apart from a Myxy rabbit. Anyway time will tell.

    i have both pure deerhounds and deerhound x greyhounds. They are not good with pain ....worse than any other lurcher or sight hound ive known...the chase instinct is high but can be quite hard to enter to actually take stuff. Have coursed a lot of foxes over the years!!! Good on rabbits but due to sheer size are not good at turning. Health wise its vital to ensure that they come from heart tested and liver shunt tested parentage. what is the heart problem that deerhounds have? I knowof someone who's dog has an enlarged heart or some thing.

    it's a sad fact mate, though to be honest i think it goes with all groups of people who have the same interests, maybe we just take more notice of the people who we share are interests with and realise it's a funny old world and your better off keeping your self to your self

    Ive always caught rabbits with young in from late jan onwards, nothings changed much as far as I'm concerned

    If you rest your dog properly and the break was do by a competent vet your dog should be fine mate,......but remember lead walking means LEAD WALKING keep your dog on a lead! once the vet thinks he's ok then get the physio on it and plenty of it,get the joint and muscles moving properly,time and rest is the greatest healer, ps ,..nice balls

    Not this time of year well dont ask such daft questions then , do you know what a rabbit looks like go to B&Q and buy some dowel it'll be much easier chap. If you do go for hazel don get the 1st yr growth get the second yr stuff as its more rigid.

    My mate has a wheaten 3/4 grey shes 16 month old and is a tidy pup, she's very subserviant [sp] and rather timid with other dogs, she works rabbit well and has tracked afew wounded roe, what he wants to know is are wheatons slow starters as he doesnt want to put her into a situation too young thanks

    more of a characteristic of hemp when new i should imagine, neither a good or bad thing unless you want to carry it out of sight in a pocket. once used a few times im sure it will hang diferantly, still a good net though, not wanting to take anything away from it i admire anyone able to stick it out and make a net, i know how much it takes to do any length of net, well done. it was very rare that I found making the net boring,if I wasnt into knitting sometimes I'd do a few rows other nights i'd do afew yards I d did quite alot whatching the last england qualifer when they were knocked o

    Here's afew pics of my net, its the 1st one Ive made; She's just over 20mts long with 100%bagging in it,14 mesh deep made with a 2 1/8 gauge.

    Bitches every time for me, I just prefere them, Iv'e seen some good dogs though, and me mum always says a good bitch will always beat a good dog, thats just an old wives tale though

    Ive had collie types, for twenty years, and they are good little dogs,first crosses are my favourite,the 1 i have is a good lamp dog,especially good at catching em in hedge bottoms,very clever and loyal,and shes a bloody good gaurd dog.she doesnt want to know foxes,the previous one would killem easy ,the main problem i have with this one is she's mental one deer,which is a pain in the arse, and[with a ban]as she will come off rabbits to chase em,they can become very possesive mentally over things and have odd collie type ways, but they are good grafters and dont like to give up,..in my exsperi

    the lacs as always hated coursing and told the lies about them been released from boxes in enclosed fields [no chance of escape] and shit sticks, then you hear of gangs on the fens running around in 4x4's yobs threatening farmers etc, and then the coursing club saying it's nothing to do with hare control just sport ! So the most beautiful and fairest of all sports was f****d same as stag hunting, the general public is dictated by the press we are all guilty of it , we were even f****d on the licenced hunting Just gotta keep your head down and be sensible
