the thing is we can openly slag the government without the fear of being beheaded for our views, if enough people feel strongly enough about an issue they will vote for it not kill there neighbors for it A new President has just been elected in Iran with a 52% of the vote his nearest Rival had 16% That was a mjority of 18 million the Western goverments accept it was a free and fair election so at least some progress is being made

I hold distaste for any Goverment in the world that does not represent and care for the needs of its people or even listen to them this applies equally to the East or West. As for the radical preachers I have more than once expressed my views on these characters so was that an issue when you decided to stay here. live under the barbaric british rule rather than iran. by that reckoning you must think it better here than your homeland. I was Born in the UK so to split hairs this is my Homeland and previously I have explained why I choose to live here as for Iran I dont have a problem

Then something like a referendum on the UK remaining part of the EU is a legal right of the people and should not have conditions attached like Cameron saying we will renegotiate our standing in the EU and if I win the next election i may give you a referendum and under the right of self determination as with Scotland they have been given the right to remain part of the UK or not. Will Wales and Northern Ireland have the same right?

I believed Democracy meant the rule of the majority you learn something every day. and are the elected representatives supposed to consider the views of the electorate on matters like going to war, immigration banking policy and taxation or do they as elected representatives impose thier will on the electorate?

A man is responsible for his own actions and behaviour. A Goverment is or should be accountable to its people for its decisions or actions if it isnt then is that not a Dictatorship that western Goverments are pretending to remove around the world ?
