    forgot to say i never take buying another dog lightly i always do my research, look at weather that dog would suit my life style, weather i can afford it and weather it will be happy with its life with me, as that age old saying states a dog is not just for Christmas!

    unlacedgecko i would always get a pup in a quiet period so as i have time to bond with it and train it. i hopefully wont be on a tractor forever as i work on the family farm so one day i will be in a more managers role so i was hoping at that point i would have time to have a dog like a GWHP, my lab and teckel are very happy healthy dogs and they get lots of exercise, obviously at some times of year harvest silage etc they get a little less, but during the spring and start of the summer we have a stalking agency on about 16,000 acres and in the winter we run a commercial shoot and also our own

    because i have always wanted one and in certain times of the year i would have plenty work for one.

    Definitely not the right dog for you ! Need their exercise well a friend of mine has a short haired pointer dog that she had the nuts cut off and in the house it laid back and happy to sleep all day but then when its out it snap's into hunting mode are the wire hairs different than the smooths in temperament?

    price is £1850 it is on guntrader and is the cheapest on there, this is a hand finished Italian gun and is great value for a gun of that quality.

    I have a black lab and a Teckel they are both working dogs and both live in the house, would a pointer be ok in the house or would they tear it to pieces? i work on a farm so dont always get the chance to give them a long walk come harvest time when its 24 / 7 etc,but my girlfriend is able to give them a bit of exercise. any one know how laid back they would be whilst at home?

    nice looking pup! i am getting one from Darswed Teckel's just after Christmas (as long as all goes well) and i have to say i can't wait our keeper had 2 and they are brilliant dogs. has any one heard about Darswed? they seem to breed good dogs and do it responsibly. Mackel were abouts did you get your pup from and is it a grade A teckel?
