  1. I've seen both bull and wheatens worked, bull more aggressive and will blow out quicker than than the wheaten - wheaten seems smarter and defo quieter, in fact near mute.

there meant to work mute.if they give any noise its frowned upon so ive been told. id have wheatens over bulls everyday of week.

  4. RAW - What I liked about the Alpha. . . is that you can set 'fences' to stop or at least, try to stop the dogs entering certain areas, crossing roads etc. Also you can get like a google earth style view on it. . . . . but it's more expensive. So will probably get the Astro. . . also it's got to be imported from the states so you have to pay import tax on top.

Turkish - what one did you get and where from?

I got it off ebay pal. I have no maps downloaded a compass comes up and points you in direction of dog and distance. nearly 500 euro thats for astro new dc50 collar anf poatage. only four dsys coming from usa

  5. only got the garmin last week and its brilliant had a beagle Russell who was putting foxes to ground regular but would come away after a while and drop in terroer then.but I kept loosing her for hour here and there and missing loads of foxes. no more will be missed. brst money I evet spent. works off gps.imo a must for hounds. hope this helps a lil

  6. My mate recently got a griffon vendeen x beagle which has been worked before in a pack, he's 2 years old but every time we have had him out he's around our feet to today we went for a walk and a whippet with us picked up some sent and was off after its quarry but the hound showed no interest!! Anyone know why he's like this as the lad before really rated him and we've seen him work,

id ask yourself why he was sold out of pack at two years old. id say the dog you got was only a follower and not capable of working on his own seen it happwn loads times. jmo

so he was fine till then, new owner and had the fox incident, back to old owner and fine again?

Seems that's what happened.Bryan had 16 digs to the dog afterwards, some tricky ones aswell and I have no reason to doubt the man as I seen this dog work plenty of times without fault. His only fault that I could see with him was his size as some earths it took longer for him to reach his game.I cant say the dog did not come away as I was not present when it happened with its new owner so cant say what took place and have no reason to disbelieve the man either, every dog has an off day and anyone that says different is a liar.

fatman just a question. do you think its possible for this dog in question to quit on a fox. as you say in your own words every dog has off day.and is it possible that was his off day.????? ive no doubt he waa decent dog wit decent digs to him. im only asking your opinion. thanks pal.

look mate the dogs were shit get over it not first and surely not last so get a grip on yourself snd let go. dont be trying to make excuses for the dogs end of. can a mod delete this thread cause its getting ridiculously boring and repetitive.

    Turkish

you seem to find it hard to follow this thread, not to mind understand what can go on underground.

Myself, Fatman, Neil , Corkonian, Corkman, Shylock and Smasher all saw the dog working for years before and after Trev bolted a fox with him. Auldboy on here shouting the dog walked? Dog never walked in his long life.

You guys have no value on a working dog. No idea. Delete the thread, shoot the dog, quick, quick,quick... Don't think too deeply on things, dogs no good get another one, quick, quick,quick....

The dog was a good dog, nothing great no legend. Worked honestly from 18 months to 12. But real digging men strive all their lives to breed, develop and preserve good dogs.

Not everyone buys in and sells dogs or discards them on a whim. Terriermen place real value on a good dog. You boys are only in this for a laugh. Ye should have shot him when ye had the chance because then he wouldn't have shown up guys that can't tell what a good dogs is. Ye'd take a dogs with 6 seasons under his belt and shoot him without even digging to him? FFS

Then ye are on here crying that money and the KC have ruined working terriers?

Delete the thread, who gives a f**k about an honest working terrier

    bryan

let me just fill in few blanks for ye seems you find it so hard to acceppt things.ive never bought and sold terriers so you obviously have me mixed up with someone else. so wat your saying is iys the people that bought this dog failed the dog and not the dog that failed them. is it so hard for you to accept the dog failed. just a quick question for you bryan since your so high up on your values were did this "HONEST WORKER" end up.
