  1. these go for a few bob.. ornate hawk eagle, falconers in the USA have used them on large jack rabbits and these and the black and white hawk eagles are like a Gos cross goldie in the hunting field so they say. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvzOYNO1fGQ
  2. Just to add they cost a nice £8000 each!!! and ive been quoted for Ornate hawk eagles £6000 each! Just got the email back of the guy who has them!
  3. But at the end of the day what ever said about "exotics" id still love a pair.. .And at the end of the day im also interested in raptor propigation/aviculture and from a commercial point of view they are worth having a pair if you knew how much they go for! Like i said id love a pair and not just from a falconry point of view as the thread has turned, after all many people keep exotic owls/raptors just for breeding and interest as their hobby.......
  4. I wouldnt have the nerve to advertise it!!!
  5. Well you fly a exotic Harris?,and look at the myriad of North American hawks such as Harri's,Red Tail's and Ferruginous etc.Harris's are the most popular hawk in the sport and not just for novices. And for hunting crows hybrids are more proficiant than straight peregrines."Exotics" have carved a very big niche in falconry in the UK.Harris and Red Tails etc have the advantage over Goshawks within rabbit hawking by being able to wait on in hilly terrain etc as they are more versitile so in that manner they out perform the "natives",but at the end of the day you use what you prefer and to your abi
  6. Same thing was said with Harris's,Red Tails etc being compared to Goshawks as they're in pursuit of the same quarry. And the same with our native Peregrine/Merlin being compared to non native falcons and hybrids, variety is the spice of life
  7. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...y0%3D%26fvi%3D1 I could become a millionaire!,wonder if i could sell mutes on their to?
  8. Very nice..can they be hunted and if so at what ?...MIST NET. In Argentina etc they fly them at their own indeginous hares etc, plus in the wild state they take a variety of fur and feather includeing Marmoset monkeys etc.
  9. Arent these stunning! Black & White Hawk Eagle, stand out at a field meet.
  10. I'll second that!,my Mrs is 25 and been together for three years i could put more up but some of you lonely soles might get "ideas".
  11. in my personal opinion you would be better of with a broadwing for a season or two first before stepping up to a longwing.
  12. Could it be Yarak?,from round there... Why spill the goss!
  13. Think it would be a top notch idea to have a Gamekeeping & allied section,im putting a few extra pheasants down this year as ive bought the sporting rights around me for a bit of extra hawking.Be nice to pick a few tips up
  14. a couple of pics.Bi Coloured hawk the two photos on the left a nd tiercel Coopers on right.
  15. If you go to Spain the Central American Bi Coloured Hawk is the same size as a Spar but a little more heavy and the biggest difference is its natural steady tempermeant! Spanish falconers say it is faster in level flight and will wed onto one quarry ie Magpies!,but they are expensive around £1500 for a female! Or a tiercel Coopers may do the job you want.Look up Falconiformes NL.
