  1. We've just got new kennels and they are 6 foot high (for lurchers) but we have put in a false 'roof' just over a metre from the floor inside the kennel part: 2 reasons............the first being that hot air rises and I don't want the dogs using their energy to keep warm in winter, so this keeps them a lot snugger. Second reason is that I can store bedding on top of the false roof (a metre high of empty space), which will also act as insulation and keep the kennels even warmer. In summer they come out to allow more air to circulate.......and I find somewhere else to store the bedding, though

Tina: don't try and change their diet all at once: if you are feeding complete, take out a tablespoon ful of complete and put the same amount of meat in its place: gradually do this so at the end of 2 weeks they are just on raw: it can take some dogs that long to adjust. Also, you may find that there are some changes in there coats etc over a period of up to 3 months. I know someone who's dogs went all scurfy after about 1 month, then it cleared up and they now have coats that shine like glass. Another bonus of feeding raw meat and bones is that you shouldn't get smelly breath (not you pers
  3. Hi all: just being reading this thread: one of my 'pet' interests. Sorry, but tripe is not high in protein at all: quite the opposite. But you are right that it is high in fat. It also lacks a lot of vital nutrients such as calcium which is important for growing bones etc. Minced whole chicken, minced meat, chicken wings, a little bit of tripe (dogs love it cos it stinks!) and lots of raw, minced veg. A dash of SA37 to make sure they are getting all the minerals and vitamins (stops me worrying lol)is the way I have more or less gone over to during the past year, having fed Purina Propla
  4. That marking pic has got to be one of the best photos I've seen in a long while: beautiful bitch.
