  1. Spoken like a true asshole. Worse reply on this thread yet, Spoken like a true Stuff man, keep at it, plenty of cubs to be whacked over the summer
  2. IMO YOU CAN ONLY BE A MARKSMAN OR A DOGMAN AND NOT BOTH. Anyone who claims to enjoy both equally is full of cock and bull. If you have a couple of descent lurchers you'll want to be testing them on the lamp regular and i know it breaks my heart to see the fox shot by these absolute morons with these rifles. The popularity of these rifles has got to beyond a joke now and lads are driving through places they have absolutely no right to be picking of foxes at ease. The dogman marksman row will always continue. Wish them no luck whatsoever and will be more than happy to meet them on the country ro
  3. Good reply! Would you say that terriers that are on the larger size are harder started? You no what i mean?less room to move, having to push himself into the hole? I think its down to the mentality of the terrier, you'll see some that are tearing the sod of to get goin and others have to begently coaxed along.A large type will struggle to go in a small earth if it has no experience, where as a small one can travel through the tubes easy enough without having to push on or dig its way up to its quarry. We always try to pick the right earths to start entering a young dog, somewhere they will ha
  4. Once at the most twice is all that i would show a young dog. Too much can have the dog pick up a bad habit.
  5. Well we will agree to disagree, there will be a lot of black dogs entered in this dog/bitch class. There could be in excess of 25 dogs entered therefore i feel it would only be fair that the category be split into dog and bitch class.
  6. Nice too see a working terrier class in the line up. As for the other classes should dogs and bitches be judged in the same class? Me thinks not as if it was me judging it would take a mighty fine bitch to beat a dog therefore think bitches should have a class of their own. Maybe just in the more popular classes such as the black dogs.
  7. Will fair play too you, for genuine people are few and far between. The bickering and bitching surrounding these shows is unreal, you just have too look at the above posts too see what i mean DannyBoi. Im not a fan of the shows and never show dogs but have been at plenty in my time and its the same faces at different places that are winning these. In some cases their dogs wholely deserve it but, unfortunately not in a lot of cases.
  8. Why is there certain lads taking this so badly, the game shows are only a bit of craic to meet up with like minded people and have a run through the previous season and the one forthcoming. Too a lot of people this is their season as they don't work dogs just show them so just let them at it as there will always be that degree of favouritism in the ring no matter what. If you are an unknown with a cracking lurcher/terrier you will not be in the top three come the end so no point dwelling on it. Its just the way things are.
  9. VERY WELL SAID. APPLY'S TO A LOT OF LADS ON THIS SITE...
  10. Working Lakelands are few and far between in modern ages. There are lads on here that keep there own line of working lakeland and fair play to them but if you go to a show in Eire you will find that there is more Lakelands being showed at shows than any other breed and there is no doubt the majority of these dogs have never been dug too. The lads that have them will talk about GM Lines and how there dogs are bred but they've spent more time with the Hairdryer over the top of them than in the ground with lads digging over the top of them. Shame too see as they use to be a very useful worker and
  11. Well, dates and venues please add below. Des Mackins show 7th May, Lawrencetown Newry and Mourne 14th & 15th Waterford???? Moira 28th 29th May
  12. I was made aware a while ago that there were large gangs up my way with hounds and lurchers and they were cutting holes in sheep wire were ever they needed to get hounds through. They were on the ground without permission. On sunday past i met with a local farmer and he took me up the field and showed me a hole in the fence 600x600mm for dogs to get through. Lambing season is upon us and he has to fix the fences in question too keep sheep in. There is suspicions off who it is but IF ANYONE ON HERE KNOWS ABOUT THIS LET THEM KNOW IT WON'T BE TOLERATED. I will put a picture up later of the damage
  13. I never have and never will have one buddy...
  14. If its a working terrier show what would be the point in having a plummer class. Why not have a fanny licking class and they can enter that.
