  1. Depends how much time you are willing to spend exercising the dog when you're not at work. If you honestly think you will get up in the dark and cold to walk it before work in the winter mornings, and again when you get back in the evening instead of putting your feet up then fine, but a JRT with not enough excersise will soon drive you crazy (though there are other breeds that are less demanding which would probably be ok.)
  2. Yeah, that's a fun game. My JRT does this to my youngest dog, think it's definately a dominance thing as she wouldn't dare do it to the older bitch. He doesn't seem to mind.
  3. One of my bitches had her first at 7 months and has been really regular every 9 months since. My second bitch had her first at 12 months and has one every 6 months but not regular as she seems to sometimes sync with the other bitch, once there was just a 4 month gap. Depends on the dog.
  4. Squeaky toys! My terriers go crazy for them. Make sure they only get it when they come back, not at home etc, and play with it in front of them, really have fun (c'mon, it's not the first time your terrier's made you look like a crazy person!) you want them to want that toy so badly they will drop anything to come and get it. This is the only thing which worked with my Jack russel, thought I'd never be able to call her and see her running.
  5. She might grow out of it. My patt was like that when she was younger, all noise and snapping, not actually attacking. She calmed down loads after her first year. Teach her a good 'leave' command to keep her out of trouble in the meantime. Good look with her
  6. Gorgeous dog well done for rescuing him. Recall training just takes time, especially if he wants to hunt that badly. Sounds like good progress already though I was going to say staffy x patt. Something along those lines. He's a good looking dog whatever.
  7. Thought I'd pop in and say hello Loving this forum, loads of great info. Great seeing so many dogs being allowed to do what they were born for. I've got 3 terriers, we're not 'serious' hunters but they are allowed to catch themselves a rabbit for dinner at the weekend and they absolutely love it so I decided to look into it a bit more.
