  1. That's exactly how the timers work. They break a beam at the beginning, thus starting the clock, and then break the beam at the end, thus stopping the clock. All linked to a timer via radio. There is also straight racing; 1000 guineas. if theres a beam at the finish line ???? could'nt that be triggered by the lure as it's passing ??? hence stopping the clock before the dogs reach it ???? just a thought can this happen ???? also , the 1000guinees is that open to pure breds too ?? The end beam can and has been triggered by the lure but when you get a time of 2.5 seconds it becom
  2. Excellent statement Terryorr. I haven't worked with dogs for over 25 years but still have 4 Lurchers, 3 of which are rescues. Because they are not worked my open season is your closed and so they chase the plastic bag and sometimes trot around the ring. Every now and again we go home with a rossette and am justly proud of my hounds. 7. We might be going as we are down that way at the time. Don't know what it's like though as we've never been before. Hopefully somebody will be along to say if it's any good etc!!!!
  8. And so it begins Oh well if the guy was as bad as that I doubt you'll be seeing him in the ring again as the last thing organisors need is bad press after the hard work that goes into these events. Having said that I had a go at showing the other week (not really my thing) and won a rossette for joint 3rd. Only 4 dogs in it and I think the judge felt sorry for me But I ENJOYED myself!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Don't know about the "shirt & tie" but I've seen a couple of lady winners with low cut tops when the judge is male
  11. We got really lucky with free entry tickets but would have been really p****d off if I'd have had to put my hand in my pocket to get in. £2.50 for a bottle Fanta from a stall next to a Double Glazing company and a Timeshare dealer?????????? Needless to say, not impressed and wont bother again.
  12. That's strange?????? The judges dog is a 16 week old puppy
