    Nothing wrong with the little Chrony. I bought one from the states 2nd hand advertised on ebay. Great little thing until some numpty shot it!

    Hi, if you're going to be into reloading for the long haul, then buy the best - 'The Best' always being something shooters will take independant views on...but, for most, RCBS stuff is usually regarded as best. Personally, I have a Lee turrret press bought 25 years ago & it's still going strong - but, it isn't the best press. 'Play' in the turret & broken cast alumin. parts...over the years though, not too much has broken & been replaced on it. Works for me, but if I were buying again, I'd buy the RCBS kit. All loading info is on the web, you tube & in good manuals...beg bo

    I'm looking for a used single stage press in good order; Lee Challenger or Rockchucker...anyone got one for sale at sensible dosh? Definitely don't want the new Lee 'Speed change' bushing for die changes.

    Doen't matter how our lads get them, as long as they get them! Its very good propaganda & very impressive if true. Our serving military have my full support wherever they are.

    Yup, I have DSC1 & 2 for some years now. Enjoyed learning, had been stalking for years before doing DSC1. At the BASC conference in Carlisle when this all first started, Peter Watson at that time with BASC said the qualifications would never be used by landowners/land agents & police for land accessibility & FAC applications......Absolutely NOT true!! These are commonly used for both now. Good or Bad thing ?

    You've probably bought them by now, but in case you haven't - 8 x 42 great for closer work, woodland etc. But problems distinguishing heads on open hill. 10 x 42 great for open hill & good for closer work too. Probably need support for looking at beast from long range. I bought 10 x 42 Swarovski, they're excellent, so are Zeiss & Leica. Best not to buy anything too cheap - you just won't get the performance & you'll just have to spend even more dosh getting one of the above. Cheers.

    I've been reloading now for around 25 years & reckon with current prices to get started you need around £500 minimum (New kit prices). The first things to get are a couple of manuals: - Lyman & Speer. READ & continually refer to them - they are your bible. RCBS Rockchucker is the most 'Precise' press, but not as convenient & more expensive than a Lee turret press. I'd say buy a Lee Turret press (£100 approx) & don't bother using auto index. Lee Autprime hand priming tool (£25 approx - not sure). Buy RCBS dies (£16 approx), scales (£ approx), uniflow powder measure (

    I use 100 gn bullets - Sierra ProHunter 1620. Reasonable cost & work very well shooting all species of deer, especially Red Stags/Hinds & Sika. Propellant I use is either H4350 or IMR 4350 (Both very similar, but don't mix up charge weights). Work your load carefully. I have tried heavier bullets, but not yet found them satisfactory in my rifle. Good luck, this is an excellent flat shooting calibre.
