  1. Ill make all the Brits very cross now but all the deerhound crosses I've seen were great at self preservation, most were afraid of foxes and always went for the easy option, the ones that weren't too afraid of foxes still didn't try too hard at cover and gave up easily.i don't know about uk but most deerhound crosses here are kept by the show crowd, the lads who go out to catch foxes have bull, wheaten, collie, hound or whatever does the job.

Trunk it's obvious to me you are a good man to keep and work a dog, your pics are good,I enjoy looking at them,I just think pics will eventually be used against us.i would be older than you I think,I hunted long before camera phones and Facebook and memories of a day or night had to stay in your mind.

i agree with you 100% about pictures the pictures i could go on the internet fox hunting images an the pictures you would see would turn your stomach problem is people arnt showing the quarry respect an putting pictures up of a blood bath which i agree is wrong i put up a video on a closed group for half an hour an removed it again due to a few lads asking to see my dog but they were removed yes other people could see them but they wearnt a blood bath it was in job done no blood no nothing but i didnt get anything on the group people giving of about it untill it was on here lads that are on the closed group hiding behind names on here am not getting at you i agree 100% with what your saying but not one of my pictures is a blood bath i wouldnt put them up due to il keep them for myself most of the time they get deleted cause i dont want to see a blood bath in a picture for a memory .but am sure even a old hand like yourself would remember a time you can talk about that sticks out in your head an you wise someone else could of seen it or you could of seen it again instead of being a faded memory you could watch it again

JayzusI'm not an old hand,I'm only 41.and trunk fair play you work your dogs hard and keep them very well.pics on line just are bad news to me because they get twisted and used out of context.good hunting for the season.

I hunt foxes by day with hound crosses and lurchers and lamp them too but I don't believe in putting pics up for literally the world to see,my and my friends days and nights out are our own business and pics put up on line will ultimately be used against the sport.in my expeirience its dopey young fellas who feel the need to show off to the world.back in the day everything was normally learnt through expeirience not by Internet experts teachings.the way it's going the attention seekers who claim to support hunting will be the ones to end it because they can't keep anything in a normal situation, they must tell the world or it doesn't count.

not to be funny but if you dont share pictures or about nights out why are you on here ?

Because hunting, besides my family is all I care about,l like to read certain posts(yours included) but I would never ever put any pics on here which the whole world can access, but that's just me,I am private enough by nature.

    Thanks for all the comments.

Derekbrown - that's good to hear mate. I'm sure they will forget all about hunting in a few years when they find makeup and boys. Lol. But it's good fun for the time being.

Lurcherlad94 - good luck starting your pup fella.

Ha I am already dreading what lies ahead,at the moment she hates boys..... Long may it last...

Any well bred bull, wheaten and even collie or whippet hound will out preform these lumbering cowards so why do ye bother?

Now i know you are another that does not have a clue, comparing a bull,a wheaton or a bloody whippet, really grasshopper?.
I have more of a clue than you,you know it all condecending prick.i am working lurchers on foxes for over 30 years.your know it all attitude might impress some of the greenhorns here but anybody working dogs over time will see what a complete ass hole you are.whats this grasshopper shit,a good kick in the bollix is what you need.
  7. A clever working dog will pull up at obstacles. Nowt wrong with that.you can't run a dog 3 to 4 nights s week if its smashing threw everything.

What a load of shite,a good dog to burst a ditch will catch a lot more foxes than some half hearted yoke.a good fox lamping or daytime lurcher should hit cover flat out after a fox,it all boils down to the dog wanting to catch more than anything thing else or just going through the motions.it costs the same to feed a good one as a bad one,so why keep rubbish.

    (07555668263) thanks BILLY

What sticks in my mind about wrecking crew dogs is how quickly they pull up at ditches and give up.fair play to the lads who did the videos though,I wouldn't have the skill or patience to film that at night.
  9. A whole series of misses and bad timing today. (Some of it was filmed into the sun so not that easy to see.) Love the bouncing busher in this first clip -

Lurcher completely wrong-footed on this one -

Lurcher is half hearted enough isn't he.

  10. Is it really a wise move to get insurance for working dog,if he gets badly hurted he might never run right, just wondering if he c'ant work what good is he to dog man, what would people do?

I never heard of a working dog in Ireland with insurance,I'd say it's an english/british thing.if you are unlucky enough for a dog to f**k himself then do the right thing and start again if you have no other ones coming along.

  11. Feck me, THL's finest, one sniff of blood and they all jump on the bandwagon. Most would not know a good dog if it bit them on the ar$e. If it does not kill everything in sight, or the colour does not match their trainers it's time to get a new one. Idiots!!!!

I am over 30 years with working dogs,Lurchers, hounds and terriers.in uk ye keep shite, make excuses to keep rubbish alive.

The likes of tiercel and the rest keep shite, that is why the best fox dogs live in Ireland.we have failures too but we don't feed shite.
