    ive found with my pups that taking them out all the time, and taking them places where they will see some action, i take mine out twice even 3 times a day, even if they dont catch anything just sighting and chasing rabbits, rats etc has really got them going.....also taking them out with dogs that are good workers has brought them on a lot aswell, learning and doing what the other dogs are doing

    ive got a border at around 5month old, he's not a bad little dog to say he's only a pup and was rescued from a bad home, he runs his legs off through the bushes, and chased his first rat last week, i reckon he'll make a good dog

    i have a patterdale, Jack, hes 26 weeks old and had his first rat last week......hes been watchin older dogs working rats, but never seemed interested, went on a local farm last week and he sniffed out a rat from under some old guttering, and chased it but seemed to hesitate when he got close, the rat ran under some wooden pallets and Jack chased it, with some encouragement from me he got it, he got bit on his top lip but managed to shake it to death.....we went out the next day full of excitment, he chased another rat and killed it instantly, he obviously didnt want to get bit again, hes keen
