  1. Hi everybody, i've recently had my first terrier pup that's now 14 weeks and have been tryin to find a fox tail for her. I got a tail off my mate that he shot this week and was wondering if i need to de-bone it and salt it or can i just give it to her as it is? Cheers

  2. Hi everybody, I will be getting my first locator soon but am not sure which one to get! Have any of you tried the ortovox 3+ or the bca tracker 2, both look good and cheaper than the barryvox and the pieps dst. What would you suggest? I have heard that the tracker one is sh**e but what about the tracker 2? Aany comments will be appreciated, cheers

  3. Hi everybody, i'm looking to buy a locator for my first terrier, but as i'm only 16 I can't really afford £370 for the b&f! :icon_eek: The Tracker looks really easy to use but i've heard good and bad things about it. Has anybody had any experience with it? All good or bad experiences will be appreciated! Cheers

  4. Thanks Blackpack, i had thought of her comeing into season but we already have 2 bitches and would probably be easier to get another one, although they will be kept seperate. I'm not sure if i would want to breed from her yet but if i do get a bitch that is also a plus if i do decide to in future  Cheers Christian, think I'll probably go for the bitch

Earth, do you think that dog's are more likely to make a good worker?

  5. Hi everybody. I'm getting my first terrier (patterdale) in a few weeks from a litter my mate has. He has 1 bitch and 4 dogs but not too sure what would be best as my first terrier. I want it to work foxes but can not decide what i should go for, would a bitch be better as she would be smaller? What are your oppinions? Cheers everybody

  6. Hi everybody, I had a new ferret yesterday. A 10 month old hobb. I have tried putting a harness on him to take him for a walk but the :censored: keeps bighting me every time :icon_redface:

How would you stop him from bighting? Do I really need to use a harness, does anybody on here use one?

    Cheers

  7. Heey i'm filling im my FAC and don't know which rimfire caliber i should go for!!

It's between the .17 hmr and the .22 wmr, which is best for long range rabbit, magpies and close range fox head shot. I know many of you dissagree with using rimfire on fox but i believe North Wales police do allow it.

Also which gun should i buy, I've narrowed it down to the Sako quad, CZ 452 and the Browning T-bolt, has anybody got any experience with these and if you have i'd appreciate all good and bad points about them.

  8. I would also like to know how i would note down that i have a mentor, do i get him to sign a letter or should i just tell the officer in the interview? I also want to know what does a mentor have to do, does he have to come with me every time i shoot and for how long?

    Cheers

  9. Go for the tikka t3 mate, my uncle has it, very accurate and good fox round and even deer at short range. Good gun overall, quality gun.

Only real competitor is the remington 700 imo. Great gun, my mate has it and he loves it.

Good luck and atb with your new gun. ;)

  10. Hi, I am applying for a FAC. I have had a sgc for over a year and am now 15. I am a bit confused about the land tho :icon_redface: . My uncle has had a rifle for around 20 years and i shoot with him, I want to know if i could use the same land as he has on his licence?

    Thanks

  11. Heeey, i'm new to ferreting and have just got my 1st ferret! I would like to know what shot fresh meat can i feed it and could i feed it mostly on dry food?

I also want to know how do i set a purse net? I have been going with my friends but i shoot the rabbits and don't know how to properly set them :icon_redface:

    Any help appreciated :gunsmilie:

  12. Cheers, I'm sure he'd be a mentor and ill ask what he thinks about it closer to the time

I was thinking of a .22lr too and i would be very carefull with the shot placement!! I have a rottweiler to finish it off quickly if needed and am also getting a lurcher x bull ;) Thanks
