  1. My bitch is a great, great grand-daughter of Sparticus which I mated with an old dog bred by Pickaxe. I don't know the breeding behind this Pickaxe dog but he has worked with a local private hunt for many years, and has given more then a good account of himself, also some of his offspring so I've been told. I thought he might have been to old for a good mating! happily the old boy was up to the job!. Muddy.
  2. 8 weeks! They look bigger and older in the photo's, maybe because they were taking with a magnifyed closed shots. Muddy.

  10. A terriers coat is ready for stripping when it can be pulled out easy with the forfinger and thumb. Most show people start tidying their pups up at an early age which gets them used to standing for the job. they then do a good strip-job at about 5,1/2 months so that the coat looks good for showing at the 6 to 12 month puppy classes. Tidying up of the coat goes on throughout the showing season, in no-way does this spoil the terriers coat, infact it helps to inprove it!. Just one point to make never, never put clippers on your terriers coats because over a time you will ruin them, always strip!
  11. No such thing! as a good working terrier pup?Try asking for a pup just starting to work or a pup out of good working parents.Hope that will help you Muddy.
  12. You say he was retreving ok and right back to hand. Are you now going out lamping with mates and their lurchers, because this will ruin a good young lurcher for he will start his retrive to you then see the other dog or dogs and will start to circle you and your mates +dogs, and the more you try to call him in the wider his circle will come.Try just taking him or her out on its own again!, I think you will find that with a little new training your Lurcher will be back to its self again.
  13. Lifting a 70lb lurcher over fences has got to be a no no!, so jumping has to be a must for me. Though dancing in the dark and over barbwire fences is always going to be a bit dodgy,so make sure your lurcher jumps and is trained well. Muddy.

  20. yes and a few other times with DIFFERENT dogs but i personally dont think stuart frost is bent just blinded by the lookers that are lakelands he did pick out all lakies and 1 border ! THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THAT SECOND JUDGE! Beckie! stop beating about the bush and pussyfooting. The rules were broken ''ie'' no person that has been elected to judge a Midlands champion of champions should be eligible to judge a ''Midlands qualification show''. Also if the storys are true why did mr Stuart Frost insist that he be the only judge in the champion of champions final!, and where were the CMW
