    Mountfield 1228H Rider Mower

Mountfield have been the UKs number one manufacturer of rotary mowers since the early 1960s. Mountfield mowers are designed and manufactured to ensure the gardening experience is a pleasure, to make cutting your lawn easier and to allow you to take pride in a job well done.

The Mountfield 1228H Rider is ideal for smaller gardens, this ride on mower is very manoeuvrable, even in the most restricted areas. Easy to use, the Mountfield 1228H has power to spare and will ensure perfect grass cutting and collection.

Powered by a 11.5hp Mountfield electric key start four stroke petrol engine, this ride on mower has hydrostatic transmission which gives infinitely variable forward and reverse speeds.

An optional mulching kit can be fitted when conditions are suitable to eliminate the need to collect clippings.

With an overall width of just 76cm/30 inches, the Mountfield 1228H is narrow enough to be driven through most garden gates and will negotiate borders, trees and garden furniture with ease.

    where you at mate?
  2. What did PLM actually do? Folk going on in this thread like he grassed on gnasher but as far as I can gather he just posted about him getting sent down?

Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick though, I seem to of missed out on all that drama!

    same here
  3. Right then you lot. I'm currently dismantling (carefully) a shelter, made in cedar, 3 metres square. The structure sits on a decking base, is open at the front, closed at the rear and has boarded ballistrade half panels on each side. It has a pic he'd t/g felted roof which will have to be recovered. There is about 60 ft rubber encased armoured cable, a heater, light and control switches. It would be perfect for a hot tub or other outdoor application. As I write this I haven't a pic to post but will have later today. Question is. Anyone interested. I don't want to put it up on other sales sights as whoever buys the thing will need a goo dish trailer to collect. Jok. image.jpeg

you sold this yet jok mate?

How are you hardening your steel ant?

ive been heating it up to critical temp, so it's non magnetic and then quenching in oil, and then once fully cool and polished back up I've been tempering it to a straw colour with the blow torch.

It may not be the best way to do it but it seems to work well on the steel I'm using.

Trial and error, I've got a set of leaf springs if you run out of things to hammer ?
ill take them off you fella! There not off that Nissan you left stranded after breaking down are they? ?
  5. First knife, used an old b7 stud I found lying around, I'm not sure what steel it is but I know they are decent carbon steel. Think it was about 1 1/2" so as you can imagine it's a lot of metal to move! lol I've got Popeyes right arm now!

But after some blood, sweat and tears I've ended up with this, quenched in oil and tempered, it's holding a good edge.

Brass pins and reclaimed teak for the handle. I'm pretty pleased and have learnt lessons for the next one.

    Cheers ant
