  1. that's not real...

Looked real to me. Funny as. As a kid I once pierced a tin of hairspray in a barely smoldering bush with a billhook...... It had a very similar effect. Same could be said for a pal who tried making cannabis oil in his kitchen with tinned butane gas, when his Mrs came in the kitchen and lit the cooker to start dinner.... same effect.

  2. My advice would be watch a couple of youtube vids and get out and give it a go. If you`ve got permission your sorted. Try paying a recce visit early morning or dusk and see whats about and where they are running to. Like any fishing or hunting, if you can find them, your halfway there... And just remember, you can only kill them once. Once youve caught them all, their gone so never stop looking for permission.

  3. I asked a well spoken ex-army man who was one what it was all about recently. He couldnt really give me a proper answer. He did say you get certain perks from other members :whistling: ... He went on to say, "Its like a cross between a church ceremony and a military parade" (He was attending a big do the day after and had some part to play he was well chuffed with.) Then went on to say "You learn to live for a better purpose, help others blah blah blah" I rapidly lost interest and told him it sounded gay as fukc. My granddad and uncle are members.

  4. Anywhere from 2 to 4ft....

Normally always in chalk and flint. Had the joy of digging shallow in sand the other day, nice., Well, till you get to a bit of rocky sandstone or compacted landscaping material.

It dont matter what it says on the box. I`ll still have a crack at it if Ive got the space to go at it, cos sometimes you can be pleasantly surprised. Some of the tube junctions can be quite cavernous and a 4ft dig can sometimes turn into a 2.5ft dig, and one more in the bag is one more in the bag.

I use a handheld gps, garmin etrex 10. £60 from ebay, no watch or phone needed, cheaper too. I didnt buy it to tell me how fast or how far Ive walked, my altitude or stopped time, although it is handy.

I bought it to help me back to the car in unfamiliar ground at night. Its quite liberating to know I can get out the car, walk for as long as I want in any direction(s) in the dark and know I`ll get back to my motor even if Ive had to change route...

Its well handy being able to make a beeline to the motor, cutting out X miles at home time especially if you have a full load to carry.

I also use it to mark warrens I intend to ferret in the future. So its win/win for me.

That does sound a good bit of kit Bob. i think it would be good if a very small unit was available to attach to the dogs collar. Just for curiosity to see how far the dog is going while out walking or a nights work.

The unit is a about the size of a 10 pack of cigarettes, only a little fatter. If you knew some one handy or even strongstuff himself could probably get one on his 50mm collars. Infact, I think youd get away with taping it on if it was only for curiosities sake one evening. Nice tight electrical tape binding and youd be away.

  6. Done mate. The Mrs is just sharing it with her friends as Im not on there. I think Ewan is second at the minute, so come on lads n lasses.

You need to get yourself a better camera john and just keep filling up the memory cards! Always nice when you find a random card and find pic`s of the kids out in the field when they were younger.

  8. Ive seen it. Its not too bad as ferreting vids go, he must have spent an age sinking the night vision cameras to get some of the shots. I dunno if I`d have put the bits in where the ferrets made contact as it could be used against us. Just my opinion, given the current climate and laws.

I like the look of "Dan", the reverse 3/4 collie. He looks a handy tool.

  9. Part personal preference and part down to the ground you`ll be setting your net, loose or soft ground will need more peg in the ground to hold it up... Mine are around 23 inches. Not to big not too small. They fit into a sewn in pocket in a jacket.

Im with you regarding Penelopy Keith in the good life, even more so when she was angry at Tom.

I cant believe Bap`s Windsor hasnt been mentioned in the carry on`s. She was fine then. I bet Sid James mashed it up.
