  1. Thanks for all the advice guys my mum is no considering letting me take them out if anyone has any further advice on my first time out i will be greatful thanks.
  2. Hi everyone. I have 2 ferrets 1 hob and 1 jill the jill is about 8 months old and the hob is about 2 & half. I got both of them from the RSPCA and after i had looked after them for 6 weeks they have an inspector come around and check they are ok. When the inspector came round before she left she said " oh and your not going to be working them are you?" and so we said "no" and she said "good because if we got suspiciouse that you were then we would take them off you" . Everyone i have spoken to says just work them the RSPCA will never find out, which my nan also said lol she used to

  4. Chill out man . Hes only asking why his bird isnt chasing pheasent not how to look after it. As he said him and his bird a doing fine it dosent sound like he would take on such a big responsability without any kind of training or help so just lay off. Anyone would know that you can learn falconry over night but everyone is a beginner in anything new to them so just stop posting if you cant say anything nice.

  8. I would hunt if i had to that is no problem but i was just thinking if i couldnt could i just fly him to give him some excersise.

  10. Hi everyone. I have been intrested in falconry for about a year now and would really like to start getting into it for when i get older and can afford one on my own. (14YO). I would like to know what type of bird to get for my first? Do i need some kind of lisence or certificate? also do i need to go on a course. I have been researching falconry but i would like to know from the people on here who actually do it.Please dont tell me to forget about the bird and get a book, i will as i am very keen to do what i can to get started and learn the basics like , accomodation, basic care,training
  11. My 4 month old jack is born to hunt. Me and my dad really want to get working with her, a good way of preparing your jack is get a black or grey sock and fill it with newspaper and tie it at the end. We did this with our girl and she instantly went after it and when she final got hold of it she shook it like mad . Also another way is to take them out to a field or woods and dig a few wholes and tie string to the end of the sock and pull to immatate a rat bolting and if your jack is intrested then they should go after it.   12. Like the forum mate i have a 2 1/2 year old hob and an 8 month old jill do you think i should work my jill at her age or is it too young. I really would like to work both but what ive heard is that jills are better and as it will be my first time i only want to do a small job and my jill i calmer on the floor and dosent start playing when i try and pick her up. Thanks.
