    This thread has turned into utter bollox !!! The top bloodlines need to be used in anything , dogs , horses , pigeons etc if you wish to produce quality , even then its not a cert , but these lines are not PURE in bullxs as over time they have been diluted down by breeding to crap bitches . Its shite people coming on here ans saying "Billy was crap , Golly was crap " when they werent , but there lines , watered down probably are . Its no coincidence that its the same stud farms that breed champion racehorses or the same kennels that breed greyhound Derby winners , as they constantly go back to

    because when after birds in the day rabbits are not relevent Impossible imho and unfair on any lurcher type dog to stop it from chaseing rabbits and flushing birds instead it is the reason the gundog breeds were developed in the first place. good advice

    no they dont matter but putting the best dog to the best bitch does matter reguardless of names or lines and the names of the lines are bollocks anyway how many of you who own any dogs out of any lines no the original dogs they started with?? can someone show me gollys or billys sire?? untill you can you should leave the subject any old staff crossed with a big greyhound bitch will produce big strong dogs that batter stuff half there size! get out there and source your own dogs its the only way to genuinley no what you got in your kennels

    true there cocker but he asked the other way round i think which would be a pure collie to a 1/4 collie 3/4 grey which would equal 5/8 3/8

    Hmmm... The way I've allways understood it; Two Pure Breeds of the same breed = Pure Breed. Two dogs of different breeds mated for a specific purpose = Cross Breeds. Two dogs of different breeding mated by accident or for no specific purpose = Mongrel. Therefore a planned mating to produce Lurchers would not be "Mongrels"; but "Cross Breeds" ! JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION. CHEERS. nearly right two breeds makes a crossbreed any more in the cross its a mongrel Just to make it interesting, LOL !!
