177 or 22 for hunting
Aaron Proffitt replied to paulredtop's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Up until recently I always used a .22 as I figured it was a must have for hunting ...until I began to read here some of the posts and logic behind it in reference to the .177 . Now a .177 is all I ever use....with the exception of some of our bigger critters like jackrabbit and racoon. Then I switch to a .25. But for gathering pigeons and hassenpeffer and squirrels ....177 is my go to gun. -
I use that exact same load for my T/C Encore pistol. It loves 'em.

Of all of those I am more afraid of the shady guys in Washington, D.C..

Where did you get that from mate? A violent crime can be someone being pushed onto the floor, or slapped around the face, which is hardly serious, it doesn't always represent someone being battered into a coma, or stabbed. And it still doesn't change the fact that their murder rate in the USA is worse than ours (Especially by gun). How you doin' Aaron, Your last few words there I agree with 100%, which is why I said originally that I don't think we should be looking to the USA for solutions to our own problems. Would it not be that the crime rate is higher in the major cities

A great example of a "tolling" terriers....
Aaron Proffitt replied to Aaron Proffitt's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
In a light hearted manner, I suppose , Doc. I don't completely agree as even the supposed show Airedales here have shown a disposition to work whether their owners want them to or not. Don't get me wrong, I got my pups where I did for a reason....cause I know what their ancestry is capable of , and didn't buy the first ones I saw in the paper because I don't want to have to wonder. But, I do think that the desire to work is still very much there in 'em. (even had some from John Henry and Matt Thom) They are nice all around type dogs, but VERY FEW are the true killers they a -

To reiterate , this study was faulted from the beginning and is 22 years old. Secondly, crime across the US was skyrocketing about this time due to the crack cocaine explosion. Lastly, crime has by and large , dropped every year in the US since 1990 . However, it has been steadily increasing in most of Canada's major urban centers.

http://www.independent.org/publications/policy_reports/detail.asp?id=8&type=summary Ric and other "disarm the citizen" proponets....are you guys aware the "Two Cities" study is over 22 years old ? Also consider Melbourne's latest crime stats , which I believe has gun laws similar to the UK's......their latest crime figures eclipse that of some major American cities. To include NYC...

Some of the larger dogs will kill the yote. As for speed, I think most people around here rely more on stamina. I've known several people that let out packs of dogs in the evening so they can go out and kill yotes. Airdales, Belgian Malnois, etc. IMHO, it's irresponsible not to accompany the dogs. Besides, the fun is in working with them as a team! WTG Aaron, you nailed all the relevant points perfectly! skycat-Most Airedales nowadays cant/wont kill a healthy coyote one on one. Take care. Cough,cough... 'bullshit !!' Must've had something in my throat ... -
I check several sources online and the crime rate between these two cities is very similar. Vancouver rate is currently189/1000 and Seattle is at 150/1000 this is per Wicopedia - several other sources have similar or identical stat's.... Where ever source I checked on line indicated that the crime rates for Vancouver slightly higher....... Hey Ric where did you get your statistics - they are are wrong ..... 10 times higher what a bunch of moderate bullox..... I bet you go to moderate rally's and chant the same thing's over and over - am I right? I am not trying to tell you limey's that we
