  1. I think a problem also is that a lot of people ( myself included ) would like to get involved with terrier work but dont know where to start especially if you don't know any one who does it .

Its not as easy as getting a lurcher or some ferrets , i have to say that terriermen look the most dedicated of the field sports community

  2. me and my whippet sonny while ferreting

(my dad helped me put the pictures on)

he is my first dog and a pedigree but my dad goes with me sometimes when i go out, he used to have lurchers a while ago i can remember carrying hares when he went coursing with coco

Nice to a young un going about the sport the right way

  3. Just spoke to one of my Korean friends. Apparently it was due to a foot and mouth outbreak and of the 1.1 million pigs that had to be culled 2,400 were buried alive by one company. They have since been charged and prosecuted.

I remember actually living in South Korea when there was a foot and mouth outbreak in the UK and the pictures on Korean TV of cow bonfires here in the UK didn't look too nice either.

I take it the cows were dead though

  4. Dirty b*****ds............ !!!!!

what about the folk sitting calling you a dirty b*****d for raising birds to be shot :whistling:

They get a good life while their reared though and the shooting is carried out in a humane manner , pricked birds are dispatched as rapidly as possible

I'm shocked by your blase attitude though as some one who hunts don't you try and humanely dispatch any quarry you get ???

I even ensure the rats i hunt are killed as quickly as possible .

The pigs being buried is just out and out cruelty

  5. I thought i read a while ago that hunter catapults had been doing great business over the past few months , cant see what over heads you would have living in a council house which you run your business from , in fact i find it pretty shocking fishfish that you come on here expecting sympathy , the dog does but not you

Whilst i agree that the vet should have had a look at your pooch , i find it shocking that you pretty much expect it for nowt .

Your a fecking disgrace mate

Try getting out to work , like 99% of this site do , i work 12 hour days 6 days a week for what amounts to pretty much bugger all in todays world , if i'm lucky i have 50 quid to myself after i've paid everything out :censored:

the business is doing fine but it is our sole income, and as we are also home educating the kids theres just not enough hours in the day.i did not start this post for sympathy iwas just sharing my dismay at a charity that prroclaims that it helps all and sundry in need with a sick animal only for them to turn an injured animal away.yes cash is tight as we have just had to spend £2000.00 on car repairs ,well actually £1000.00 for one garage to fcuk the job up and another for a good garage to put it right!

and its been a long time since i did as little as 12hour day,or for that matter only 6 days of the week!youve got it easy .

So when your car fcuks up you fully expect to foot the bill, and can magically find two grand even although you've used the last of your fuel for the week and your children are walking to school barefooted but when it's your dog/dogs you expect someone else to pick up the tab. I actually resisted posting before giving you the benefit of not knowing your full circumstances but you've just confirmed what I initially thought, your a scrounging git.

Read it again mate, the kids don't go to school ...........

I wonder how many people thought I was a bit harsh at the start of the thread, I even thought myself I might have gone a bit far, but it seems not now.

"Poor me" syndrome, I hate it ...........

    Amen to that

Are you having a laugh :wallbash: You have no idea what i do for a living you pompous arse !!! I dont work sat on my arse cutting out catapults , i work doing manual labour with my hands proper graft that would have you left in a puddle on the floor within an hour !

I fit my family life round this , and my animals ( dogs ferrets ) and i'm up early every morning and make sure they are walked and the runs cleaned out before i even have a bit of brekkie or a cuppa .

You don't know your born mate

  8. Its 5 pound per ferret round my way plus 20 quid consultation fee but that is not for each that is for however many you take in .

Mine will be coming in anytime soon and as soon as they start showing they will be straight down the vets for their jabs , i think your either being very naive or this is a wind up :icon_eek:

If you cant scrape the money together for jabs and your not prepared to put in the effort to find a hob thats vasectomised then you'd be better off not having ferts :whistling:

  9. cheers guys.

whether i get a bout before the season doesnt really matter. At the end of the day if i dont, it gives me longer to train. I am ready now but having longer will only make me better.

One of the guys at the club recently become the ABA national champ and i have been sparring with him and have done very well :toast:

What weight you gonna be fighting at fella and how long you been training ?

Been training just over 18months now i guess. Im weighing 84kg at the moment which is heavier than when i first started but i feel good at this weight, not that it really matters in a non-competition bout

Course it matters mate , you might end up fighting someone who has dieted and sweated down to that weight , i've seen lads come in half a stone heavier than when they weighed in

If your gonna be taking this serious does your club have a opponent in mind ? is this your first fight?

  10. cheers guys.

  11. Best guard dog i ever seen was a Labrador owned by my ma , she used to have him running loose in the yard when my dad was away , we had a break in one night and he dragged the guy off our fence and absolutely savaged him , mum had to go to court on account of having a dangerous dog :wallbash:

Had a court order to have him destroyed , mysteriously ran away that night :whistling:

  12. Who here has never ferreted without a locator? Just out of interest?

I have but i picked the warrens with care , small warrens probably 6-7 holes max .

Also most of my ground the warrens are shallow and i could easily hear what was going on .

Wouldn't be without a locator now though , although having started without one means i am tad more patient than most when it comes to a halt in action .

I still don't whip the locator out for at least half a hour and i will only start digging if i'm sure the ferret is stuck

  13. Not every traveller can be a great fighter though i haven't met any who wouldn't have a go for fear of losing face .

All kids brought up on a site are taught from a young age to settle it with their fists and then thats the end of it .

Just because youve been to a boxing gym a nd trained doesn't mean you will be a great fighter , i trained from the age of 8 up untill i was 16 but the skills were just not there , and all coaching does is bring them out

Why the hell youd want to be a bare nuckle fighter is beyond me , especially when you can do boxing or mma for legitimate money and have a proper gym and a training team behind you .

  14. I have 4 rings being currently cast by a friend who works at a castings firm , these rings are top quality English brass( gold look alike ).

If the demand is their i can have more cast .

Looking for 25 quid per ring plus 2 quid postage and packing .

Apoligies for the quality of the photos as they have been taken on my phone .

  15. When its a pure pest control permission it can definatly be a pain in the aris !!!

As we all know every rabbit the farmer/landowner see's means he's infested and they want to see big numbers taken and you out everyday of the week .

I have one where i go as i please , it's not a numbers game to me and i am left to me own devices and if i want to just catch one then thats great.

Its also nice to have a name to put forward if your ever challenged about why their is a load of coneys or the odd canny in ya boot :tongue2:
