  4. That's the way we work it. Wouldn't breed a litter unless a few of the pups where spoken for before hand.
  5. Just wondering what your guys opinion is on breeding? I know you shouldn't breed out of dogs that don't make the grade and have been well proven over a few seasons. But is it OK to breed to keep just 1 pup out of the litter back for yourself? I think there is to many lurchers being bred at the minute and i think this is solely for £. Some adds you read say 10+ pups for sale out of the 1 litter so obviously then they where only bred to make a few £ as not many or even any have been kept. So what you guys think?
  6. I hope that your wrong POACHER but I have to admit this is the first thing that I thought when I heard it thismorning and even my wife had the same thoughts to.I wonder how many others have doubts but are keeping them to their self ? Thought this myself aswell. I haven't seen many foxes stick around to long once they knew their was anyone about. Even urban foxes won't come close to you if they know you're there.

  11. It can take deerhound crosses a lot longer to mature. So i wouldn't be trying to start him to young if i was you pal you could end up ruining hm. You'd prob be better waiting until the season starts in September and then try him. He prob just to puppyish at the minute.
  12. I think a pup from the litter is all that should be asked for.If the person who owns the stud dog has no need for a pup then i think there well with in there rights to ask for a price of a pup whatever that might be.

  16. Alright folks just wanting to hear your opinions? Was talking to a old friend of mine the other day and we got on the subject of teaching a dog to jump. I said i always teach my dogs to jump as i like to have this quality in my dogs. He on the other hand said he never teaches his dogs to jump anymore and does not like them to. I asked him why this was and he said it was because that a lot of the permission he has is now double fenced. And that one of his previous dogs he had jumped one of these fences and came down on the second and caused serious damage to the dog. It got me thinking i
  17. Out with a proven dog doing the business. Let them watch and if they show any sign's of wanting to join in then let them. But i always make sure the that the 1st dogs got good grip. Think personally a pup getting its face chewed off 1st ever fox will cause you to have more failures trying to start them.
  18. Alrite folks. Just wondering how you guy's deal with a feeding a new dog when it's a fussy eater? What has been the longest a dog went without eating what you're putting down for it when you just got it?
  19. Nice looking dog atb with him.
