WOW......monkey has just recieved his copy of THE HARE AND THE SWIFT HOUND
what a book in a coffee tyle format ,this book is big and heavy in full colour
as monkey slid his wooly hand over the silky sharp photos he closed his eyes and was transported back to the days before the ban
the photos are that good it almost feels you are there
200 pages of photos never before seen of stunning quality
monkey thinks this book is a winner

i made the mistake that you are about to make .....there is no need to enter it to game until it is rock steady with all its training....mine was shown rabbits too early and now is quite hard to handle,,ranges too far out etc ..i would just work on getting the pup really steady on all the basic commands...i introduced mine to dead game and it made training harder as it wasnt interested in ball or dummy...i had to start again and go back to basics with dummy work....i know its hard to wait but its better if you do

well monkey been out again and this time it was a bit of stalking..on the way out ferreting we were just walking along and we spotted a strange shape 200 yrds ahead
i spotted my quarry lay near a wall.the wind was blowing gently against my right cheek ,we were in a good position .she hadnt winded us and could be seen sheltering in the corner of the field ,out of the wind and capturing the first warming rays of the weak autumn sun.i raised my thin wooly hand to stop my fellow hunters.all the years of special forces training paid off and they froze exactlty where they stood.they reckon it was the sas training that they had durung the falkland war but in reality i knew it was playing musical statues in the school playground.i gave them the signal to stay and they silently dropped to the floor .i slipped my heavy pack off and slid cat like over the nearby wall.like water in the rushing river i slid over the loose stones that wobbled on top of the rickety wall and dropped onto the wet grass .half crouching i moved crab like along the wall ,the only bit of cover thet was available to me .i knew that the only way was to follow the wall and then cut across the last few yards of open ground to get really close..i reached the gap and slowly looked around the edge of the wall .i waited maybe a minute to settle my breathing and rapid heartbeat ,which at the moment was beating like a drum....i was hot and sweaty , i knew i shouldnt have drunk that third bottle of red wine and now i was paying the penalty,,,,she was still there and as she had her back to me ,she was mine ...many a welshman at this moment would not have been able to control himself but as an englishman with morals, this was not the time for animal insticts ....she lay still as still as the rock wall which sheltered her ....she was mine ....a quick photo and i slid off ,she didnt know i had been there....like a little wooly ghost i disapeared into the morning
strange thing was as we passed the spot a few hours later she was still asleep...must have cracked open one too many bottles of red like i did

That took me right back to growing up in my village The school bus driver used to drop me off about 5 mile from home on the way to school, a ferret and half a dozen nets in my pockets
Its a material world now !
Oh and hands up who have shot there mates with a bsa meteor lol
i,ve still got the scar

had another go at the pigeons ...not a great success but a a lesson learnt ..when i got there my mate was set up near a group of conifers so we were shooting together but as it happenedd the flight line had changed over the last few days and the birds wanted to feed on a smaller fields surrounded by roads ...we could see the birds following a line of trees to go onto the smaller field....we should have moved ,but managed a few shots anyway
coming into the decoys and the final bag
