Hi all, good friday brought good news as i got my fert back after 2 days missing, like i said in my last post she escaped on wednesday and i thought i would never see her again, well' after putting out some flyers on thursday i got a phone call of a neighbour 5 doors away, said he seen a polecat run under his decking at about 10.00 this morning, i was buzzing as i new it had to be her, got there in about 10 secs, after him showing me where he had seen her i got on my knees and after a couple of mins she showed up, back arched and hissing (obviousley a little frightned) but i managed to tice h

Hi all, went to check on my ferts this morning and noticed the bottom hutch door slightly open and ferret gone, my little boy who's only five was messing about with his freinds where i keep the ferrets and he hasn't closed the door properly, he's devastated and so am i, she's an 11 month old polecat and she was a little topper, done really well her this season, one of the neighbours saw her running around at about 6am but was to frightned to pick her up, i'v searched high and low and also left her hutch open hoping she'l come back tonight. i'v also printed some flyers off to put out around the

  9. Hi all, just wondering what's the best type of batteries to use for the mk3m receiver and collar and where to buy, cos theres that many different makes ? just bought one of them battery testers of ebay £4.95 are they any good? Thanks guys. atb nic

  11. All mk3 recceivers will work with all mk3 collars but the calibration may not be correct.
  12. Hi mate, You got the mk3 ferret and terrier finder which searches upto 16ft and locates upto 8ft, and for the terrier you can get a collar that you attach the ferret collar to. Also you can get a long range terrier finder which searches upto 40ft and locates upto 10ft. hope this helps. atb nic
  13. Cheers lads, forgot to mention, highlight of the day was when a stoat bolted from one of the sets we done , it musn't have been in there long cos we had a rabbit bolt not long after, ferrets were lucky! anyone else had this happen? atb nic

Well guys, bit of a frosty start but at least the sun was shining landed on permission 9.00. first 4 or 5 warrens nothing home, then we done a little 4 holer 2 out of there, then onto one of the bigger sets 26-27 holes, 2 ferts in hob and jill, after about 5mins 1st one in the net, another 10 mins passed no2 and then straight after no3, nets off and onto the next one. think we done about another 4 warrens and got another 3 rabbitts, we also missed a couple like ya do8 rabbits in total, but all in all we really enjoyed the day, heres a few pics. atb Nic

Hi guys, nearly all my ferreting is done on uneven ground so have only ever used purse nets, but recently got some new permission on not so hilly ground so would like to have a go at long netting, not sure what size net to start with, but like the idea of a quickset with poles and basket,and also can you set the net around a warren or will it have to be ran out in a straight line, i would be very greateful for any info and good advice, thanks guys.
  19. thanks for that stubby but can you use the mk2 collars with the mk3 finder, guy says he l take £70 for mk2 finder with 2 collars? cheers.
