  1. just.... wow! Thanks for the link.
  2. alright mate. i just looked on the deben website and it looks alright nice and lightweight i imagine. i would imagine that would be made specifically for air rifles as it wouldnt realy be capable of much more. it states that the beam length is 70 metres. so if this is correct. its more than capable of doing the job for you. it is powered by lithium batterioes which are rechargeable but iam afraid i couldnt realy tell you how long this would last. but these batteries are obviously small so it would be worth putting extras in your pocket incase the light runs out before your finished. at
  3. Every day we hear of stolen dogs, on the radio, internet, word of mouth and we all know it's prolific but where do sooooooo many robbed dogs end up? This appears to be well organised. Somebody must know what's going on.....is there a market out there for stolen dogs that has lead to it being so prolific and such a total scurge?
  4. I've been shooting the same Medalist for decades. On the plus side, it has always been very reliable and on the minus side, it's a bit heavy.
  5. I'm not sure of the UK situation and the Irish situation is shrouded in rumours of sightings, denials, possibilities, shooters saying one thing, hunters saying another and the doo-gooders disagreeing with us all I'n my own experience, there are regular sightings of a pair of them. Early morning herding presented me with a couple of chance to spot them. At first I hadn't a clue what they were even but after speaking with neighbours, it's confirmed what they are and it's a worry in local farming circles that they will become a nuisance. I'm told that I can't shoot them with my .223 but
  6. We got IR£17/fox in the dim and distant past! Was great until the anti-fur doo-gooders took over.... even released the mink from local mink farms. That was a very practical move which was welcomed by the farmers and locals.... NOT!
  7. JRT have made great foxers, great digger dogs but they have recently become lap dogs. As a lad in the 70's, I recall my Dad having over 40 JRT's at one stage, and developed a strong line of eager hunters, working as a pack or an individual on badgers as well as foxes. Very agile underground, fearless and relentless agression, but easy to handle/maintain. However, they did tend to get grumpy with age.
  8. What's the chance of having a chat with your neighbour, the farmer, to expand your shooting groung into his/her lands? Shotgun would be great then.
  9. 1. Dogs. 2. T bar. 3. Short handle spade. 4. Gun. Anyone bring a ..... camera?
  10. I'm all for it but only as long as it's done to ensure a "correct" length, no bald patch at the tip and maybe incorporate a feature such as different colour.
  11. Very good point.... so can they be classed as vermin because of the sheep close by? Aroung here, sheep farming area, they'd be killed so as not to harm the lambs and sheep etc.
  12. Excellent.... and my wife will be so glad to hear it's really easy to clean too!! I'm googling wildcat now....... Thanks!!
  13. I'm interested in purchasing good quality moderator/silencer/supressor for my 527 in .223. Please advise me on your experience in this situation.
  14. I have found it may get you better results to change the colour from time to time.... it keeps the foxes guessing ha ha
  15. I'm interested to get information on calls for munties please as they are increasing in numbers in Wicklow, Ireland. Elsewhere on here, there's a reference to buttelo calls but there's not much information available on them (google!). What works for you and where's it available please?
  16. Hello everyone. I'm new on here so am open to advise and assistance from all quarters!! Living in Wicklow, Ireland with lots of lakes, mountains and perfect terrain for hunting, though I'm mainly involved in keeping foxes away from sheep with the help of two great jack russels, an old 12g Browning Medallist (heavy or what?) and a CZ 525 in .223 Rem c/w S&B 7x50 Klassik... Looking forward to learning more from everyone's vast experience on here and well as getting the benefits of superior technical information. Look me up when you're in my area and "say nothing, 'till you he
