Cheers bud.Had the camera for four weeks.Think i have the basics a lot i will have to read up on and learn as i go.To get good photos think i will have to bring my fieldcraft into play.Was out for about 20 hours last week.All i have to show for it is plenty pics of the dogs atb. No offence taking mate.Me and my lad get on great.Had him out shooting and hunting since he was five.Has his own lurcher.When i am working he walks the dogs feeds them and cleans out the kennels.And like myself loves his fishing.The reason i put the thread up lads dont seem to have the basic skills we learned as youngsters.And his reply was a belter.Dident teach me how to build a fence.atb.   7. I thought they would be because of the amount of energy they have, do they catch many on a straight run though? I was thinking of getting a beagle but I reckon spaniels would be better for general rabbiting. You dont get a spaniel with the intention of catching rabbits their used to flush rabbits from cover to a waiting gun hawk or lurcher.The only time a springer will catch a rabbit mostly is in cover .atb dell True dell great dog to push rabbits out fot the lurchers.Iam getting a Spocker in six weeks will come in handy for that job.atb

  12. What age is your lad? Maybe you could get him and a few of his mates round to do the hut as a team and teach them some skills. Organise a picnic lunch or a few sausages on a BBQ to keep it fun. At the time he was 18 mate.Him and his mates would have a great watching me do all the work.Tryed to teach them.they seem to get bored to easy.atb.Catcher
  13. I think its a shame most schools dont do it.showing aptitude at these skills can lead to getting a good job it the building trade

  17. Not having a go at my lad.Love him to bits.The other day he asked me if he could build a hut in the garden.No i said as i got of the floor laughing.Wasent being mean. A few years ago i was putting up a higher fence to let the dogs have the run of the garden.So i told my son to stay in and help me put up the runner,s.Whats runners he asked.When i was a lad at school you did woodwork so you could learn the basics of working with tools.You would make a little chair ,table or a small cabinet.So after five mins watching him trying to nail in his end of the runner slipping of it mark dropping the ha

  20. What sort of camera did you get? There are lots of magazines out there on digital photography, but also some good websites for tutorials. ephotozine is a good place to start looking for help. Amateur Photographer is a weekly mag, it has some interesting articles, but also a lot of camera and lens reviews. Some very nice photos in there sometimes though...
