  1. Why are you wanting to vaccinate him?? From what I have heard there is not distemper in the UK. I live in America and we have distemper and rabies, I am not vaccinating for either. Weezer, Lilly and Ravi all completed their shots prior to me getting them but Lakota only had her first two distemper boosters.. And I'm keeping it at that.
  2. Willie, I sent you a PM again. Solostoke, that was a good video.. I don't think my coon would have much trouble doing that.. But I'm getting nets too.
  3. I've been feeding my dogs a raw diet since 2005. They don't get veggies, just meat, bone and organ.. They eat lots of deer plus rabbit, beef, chicken, beaver, goat, pork, squirrle and whatever else I can find. The link that you posted is PRO-raw.. If you click on those things like "raw food makes dogs blood thirsty" it wil prove that it is false.
  4. Are you sure it hadn't landed ON the rabbit prior to you cutting it open??? It is impossible for it to have been INSIDE the rabbit.
  5. I can tell you she's not mixed with jack russell, she is nearly the size of a Blue Tick Coonhound. I think any of my dogs would work for marking holes.. I've got a pit bull beagle mix who tried going into a burrow, and I've got a pure bred beagle too... And my 3rd dog is a lab beagle mix, then I've got Sally the coon mix. Sadly I can't do anything with the ferrets until September, 4 months to go. Ferret Feller, did you get that PM I sent?? About the tracking collars?
  6. Sally is pretty fast, it only takes her a few seconds to run about 100 feet. I'm not ever sure what she's mixed with but here are a couple pictures I know she's a bit thick in those pictures but we are working on trimming her down a bit.
  7. Ok, I'm trying to process all of this info... I was able to find the nets on ebay, shipping is so expencive though (it costs more then the nets themselves).. But Solostoke, I have a coonhound mix. She is very prey driven and has killed a possum before, do you think she would work ok?? TOMO, I will try contacting some of the other American members. In my area we only have cotton tails, BUT when you get within maybe 50 yards of them they will bolt into their burrow so it should work out. Also, I have one ferret who is deaf. It wouldn't be wise to take him into the field would it?? My
  8. What do I need to search for on Ebay?? "Purse net" comes up to ladies bags.
  9. Thanks everyone. And don't worry, the ferret I might be getting has nothing to do with me wanting to go ferreting. I would just like a good ferret with good genes. As for the rabbit nests hunting season is November 1-February 28 and they Mate February–September so it should be easy to by-pass that. I am looking at locators right now. I have one question so far.. The purse nets, can they be purchased? I saw the video on making them, how long does it take to do that??
  10. Hi everyone! My name is Maria and I own 4 ferrets. I am interested in ferreting. I was told a while back that is was illegal because I live in America. I am in Virginia, I contacted Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries and asked if ferreting was legal in Virginia. The email was bounced around between many people but I got a reply, while it is NOT a recognized sport here it is not illegal provided I do it during hunting season. So I am very interested in possibly ferreting, I have my 4 pet ferrets (Marshall's) but I might also get a ferret from England. It was bred from ferreters. So now
