  2. i'm not 100% sure of this but i thought the safety catches that lock the bolt also stop the firing pin releasing.the catches that allow bolt operation only lock trigger function.in theory that would make the locked bolt option safer in the event of the rifle being dropped etc. sure someone knows more about this than me ....
  3. That's interesting! I was pretty certain the deer culled at Glenfeshie were processed through the Forestry Commission larder at Inshriach ('bout 10 miles from the Feshie landing site). There has been a lot of hype about the Glenfeshie cull and most of it is inaccurate .
  4. Hi Anna, i'm sorry i forgot to check the collar size but i'll do it this week!the gps unit and two collars cost me approx £700 but it came from the USA so maybe you can get it at a lower price... atb A
  5. Hi Anna, I use the Garmin system for my pointer dogs and it's a great system. I don't know if you can adjust the collar size for terriers but it is expensive to buy and probably much of the information (dog speed, km travelled) is not necessary for you. The accuracy is great and you get good signal in the forest so it is possible to almost always know where the dogs are. I first saw this system used in Norway for elk (moose) and it is obvious when the dog is working a hunting pattern or if the dog is chasing (travelling only in a straight line).
