I caught a few rabbits and a sqiurrel with a shetland sheepdog Then I got an old type russell

I would like to breed them,I am able to get a kit for free from a friends working litter.I have seen the dad and he is a great ferret. I was thinking about a jill and a vasectimised hob..?? And is it true that ferrets eat throug wire..?

I may be getting a feret soon I have a hutch with is 2 and a half feet off the ground,2 feet deep 2 and a half feet high and about 5 foot long,The only problem is that the wire door is broken.My Friend says that even if I fix it the ferret would be out after the hens.I have seen a nice big one solid the same size except a bigger mesh part for £76 What should I be better off with And I still cant chose between a hob or a jill..??

Oh OK thanks I can span him round the waist,and he gets down most holes I like the bigger ones for foxes as I know a few who got killed by the fox who were really tiny. Jake is 11 inches at the highest point of shoulder so is a shorty but has a wide chest.. -

yeah I relise that I just wantid to know if the span is important,because on one site it sais it must be 14 inches...?? -
my terrier is 18 inches around his chest his waist is 14 he goes down most holes and catches rabbits and rats but with alot he has to dig.Is he to large..?? I have heard you must be able to span your hands around the terrier waist but I have very small hands and I cant. Please someone shed light on this matter..

I dont know his breeding,I got him from a man in wales.Who rescues terriers. He caught alot there rats n rabbits.

Jake Jake ran out this morning to the chicken runs and saw the rabbits,he ran round and round till he grabbed this one and broke its neck
