  1. Adams advice is probably the fairest thing to do as Chilli says theres more than enough unwanted dogs allready. If its too late for the jab, have the pups humanely PTS and let her rear one or possibly two and find them good homes. She will dry off quicker and get back to work sooner than if she had a larger litter :good:

I agree, if the pups are moved on once they are weaned who knows how many homes they will have by the time they are adults, & bad owners teach dogs bad things, i do hope its a false alarm though

  2. WELL LADS ,

IVE JUST BEEN OUT ON A STROLL OUT THE BACK GATE ............... KIDS IN TOW ,MAKING NOISE LIKE A HOOLIE :(

WHEN I QUIETENED THEM DOWN AND MADE A SPOT THE WILDLIFE COMPETION UP [ UPSTAIRS FOR THINKING , DOWNSTAIRS FOR DANCING :D ]. I REALLY ENJOYED IT , THE DOGS MUST HAVE PUT OUT 15 PHEASENT PULLETS , 3 HARES AND 2 RABBITS ALL IN THE ROUGH PASTURE BEHIND MY HOME :) , SAW LOADS OF FROGS AND FOUND TWO TOADS , WATCHED A LOAD OF LINNETS , GOLDIES FEEDING ON THE SEEDING HEADS ...... JUST THEN THE HALF PINT CALLS OUT , I SPOT A BARN OWL ..... SURE ENOUGH IT WAS WORKING ITS WAY DOWN THE GILL , WATCHED IT DROP TWICE , COME UP UNSUCESSFUL .....ON THE WAY BACK IT CAME 20 FOOT ABOVE US CARRYING A VOLE .... THE KIDS WERE OVER THE MOON

I WOULD HATE TO LIVE IN THE TOWN ................. POOR SODS

YEP .............. I LOVE LIVING HERE

  3. good luck frank...my last piece of advice is keep the chest freezer for yourself and buy her a cool box..oh and stick your next nights kill in her knicker drawer if she say's nowt then she must really think the world of you...:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    :11:

  4. my lass is spot on :good: I was into lamping ferreting etc... before i met her (two years ago)

So since i was into it before i met her, she has to put up with it, and is she tried to stop me it'd be "c'ya" She will never try stopping me though.

She has seen all sorts being killed, shes been lamping, ferreting,, trapping, snaring, She's even been bit by a ferret.

Only one thing i can complain at her about is she cant climb fences very well  especially wobbly ones.

my mother doesnt mind what i do, as her dad used to go lamping so she gre up round lurchers, my dad used to be into ferreting wildfowling roughshooting, so she has seen plenty of dead bunnies, pheasants, geese, etc.....

I would love to go rabbiting but he sayes i am useless, cant set nets, crap over fences & i talk, oh and i cant smoke so sod him :laugh:

  5. I’m from just beside Ellon Jock I take it your a north east lad as well,

The jill came into season early on ferret love and I got her the jab that was before I got the albino I thought it might be because the poley has never had young herself and she's not quite sure what to think of them coz the albino has certainly had litters in the past and she just mothers them, hopefully she will come round though.

The reason i asked about the poley being brought out of season was because i thought it may be hormonal behavour, if she was jabbed she could be having a phantom pregnancy as she is guarding the nesting box, the poley & the albino jills probably have a mutual respect for each other, but kits being kits need to be schooled by the adults as to whats acceptable & not within the group you have.

I think as long as she isnt in kill mode i would just watch the behaviour & act accordingly, if you need to move her out then do so, i personally wouldnt let it get to the point where they are all snapping at each other, that just means 4 unhappy fearfull ferrets who may never mix again if you try to introduce a newbie in the future.

    hope this helps a bit

  6. hello every body , i live in northwest lancashire and i am looking for some particular coloured ferrets, sandys/ silvers, hobs and jills,. i am willing to travel within a 100 mile radius of lancashire , PM me with your phone number and pics please john,

I think there is a rescue place in bolton & also manchester out of interest do you want to breed from these kits if you get them , next year ?

  7. i have given up trying to keep dry food in dishes, i just put the food on the floor of the cage now, they scatter it every where anyway, it gives there little noses something to do sniffing the food out :11:

  8. had a cat with white eyes, they were cateracts :)

I bet you have never seen an albino change into a poley :11:

I had a sandy kit turn into a poley fecked me right up

so did i, he was a big dirty ginger thing then when he was castrated & moulted he was a lovely poley colour :) his coat was disgusting before i had him done then as if my magic he turned into a handsome prince

  9. Alright guys Meikle here, just joined the site n just getting back into ferreting after a few years of doing alot of wildfowling wondering if any of you had had any of your ferrets get upset by new arrivals. What the problem is is that I got ma first poley jill about 3/4 months ago at the age of 9months and she was good as gold never bit once or even offered then i got another a month or so later an albino jill at 3 years n they got on fine. Now i've just got 3 8week old kits on tuesday night the albino just mothers them but the poley is totally out of sorts she's started biting n guards her nest box apricate some advice.

    Cheers Meikle

Has the poley jill been brought out of season this year, either vacectomised hob, jill jab or litter ?

  10. Similary, I've heard that 70% of vasectomized hobs are able to produce kits after the 2nd year due to severed sperm-ducts rejoining.

    Has anyone had this happening??

    Cheers

    Eggy

there has been loads of cases of it hapening this year i know to 3 litter born in my area alone
