OK aaron01 first of all take a look at the sort of terriers that went into the making of the DJT, I think you would be suprised at just how many differant British terrier breeds the Germans threw in there to make what they call the perfect terrier. Also please take note of what Waz is saying, he is one of the better terriermen here in Europe, and has the complete spectrum of European quarry to hunt, and like him I think that the DJT is a great animal but it has to be worked and worked hard, and that is fine if you have the time and the quarry for it, but like he says these terriers do have som

I am with you there OldNog, there is absolutly no reason why anyone in the UK would need a DJT, although I am English I have lived in Holland for many years now and all my hunting is done in Holland,Germany, and Belgium, with the occasional trip to Blighty thrown in. My opinion of the Jagd Terrier is that it can be used on Wild Boar and it is good at that, very good, but for earth work they are in my mind to mental and are always being damaged and cost a fortune in vets bills. No, aaron01, I would say that if you want a Jagd go first to Germany or Serbia or Croatia and see them work first, the

The German Hunt Terrier (Deutsche Jagd Terrier) was first bred to become the perfect all round terrier, but sadly such an animal does not really exist, but they are mostly still in the Hands of Jagers (Hunters) and it is sometimes very difficult to obtain one if you are not yourself a Hunter, they seem to work best on Wild Boar, as they are as a rule to big for earth work, the majority of them are extremly game, in fact they are definatly the jaws on type of terrier, sadly they are generally also not very sociable either with other dogs or people, but if you like a real game terrier these dog

Crossbreed, I couldn,t agree more, it is not only boring, but annoying it seems some people spend more time on a computor than in the field. rgds Vermindog. -

I will just say one thing to end it all, apart from the fact that Anna knew all about the docked tail and the "no pedigree" there is not a breeder in the world that would sell an eight week old pup, with the garantee, that when it was fully matured, it would make the perfect stud dog, and that it would fit the breed standard perfectly, it has now become more of a story of trying to shut the stable door after the horse bolted. Ok thats me finished with the sublect. rgds dave. -

Nobody is saying otherwise Valerio, I myself have 2 Parsons that were bred in Holland and work fox, badger and wild boar. but the thing is you are looking at a price of around 7 to 800 euros for a show dog, the good working dogs are only let go to people that the breeders know. rgds Dave. -

OK seeing as how Panna has taken the cowards way out, and decided to tell anyone who wants to PM her what big bad men both Don Campbell and myself are, and we have no other way of defending ourselves, except by telling the truth, and after talking to Don, This is what happened. Panna was talking to me about how very much she would like a pup out of a working line, because as she has already said they are like almost immpossible to get on the continent, and I offered to help her get one, I spoke to Don aboout it and he himself was not really interested in letting one of his pups go to somone wh -
Strong Stuffs collars for the Ortovox are spot on, just about the best collar I have ever had, have been useing them since February, My hunting mate and myself use Russells and Patterdales on everything from Rat thru Muskra,t Nutria(Coypu), Fox & Badger, and these collars are durable, reliable, and easy to clean, we found that the !.5 inch are to wide, whilst the 1 inch collars are exactly perfect, we work our Quarry in Holland,Belgium and Germany. I see that you are from Kent, that is where I am from originaly, up on the Downs near Charing, If and when you get you SS collars would apprecia

Ok that one, his name is EE louie bred by Don Campbell runs back thru old Davy Jones lines, maybe Don will tell us a bit more about him, he is in my yard since December and is worth his weight in gold, real great little dog, works atreat on all the quarry we have here in Holland and Germany. here is a foto of him. rgds Dave. -
The Coypu or Nutria as we call them, ain,t any thing really, ok they can do a bit of damage with those big orange teeth, but once the terrier has locked on to its throat its over and done with, as Valerio said, pound for pound a brown rat is harder. If you want to know the size here is a foto of a Nutria alongside a 14 inch Russell. rgds Dave.

Dear dear Anna, you get what you want and then everyone else has done you wrong,I don,t give a monkeys toss what you think of me but please don,t try to convince all the good people on this forum that you work your dogs, You dissapoint me, if you want to blame me please do so, my back is broad I don,t mind, but one of these days you will find that you don,t use people that called you friend. You have now had the guts to name the man who sold you the dog, you only got the puppy because I asked Don to let you have a pup out of a working litter, Ok you knew that I was going to Jena and when I off
